The Demonic Pacts League was Old School RuneScape's sixth league. It started on 15 April 2026 at 11:45 AM BST[1] and ran for 8 weeks, ending on 11 June 2026.[2] It was themed around Yama and his pacts.
The name was revealed with a teaser trailer at the New Game+ Showcase 2026 on 8 January 2026,[3] with further details coming as part of the Winter Summit 2026.[4]
Overview
Like previous Leagues, the Demonic Pacts League was a temporary game mode with unique mechanics that differ from the main game. All accounts with membership were able to play Leagues on dedicated worlds, with progress entirely separate from the main game. Players began in a single region of the map, with other regions unlocked as they progressed through the gamemode. They were able to unlock new regions, along with powerful pacts/relics that change their gameplay, by completing tasks and earning points.
All players were Ironmen and began with an accelerated XP rate of 5x (a rate that could increase through unlocking relics). Run energy was unlimited and some quests and Achievement Diary tasks were automatically completed, including Rune Mysteries and Druidic Ritual.
Due to its recent release, Sailing was not included in the Demonic Pacts League. No content released in the main game during the League was added either.
Pets obtained in previous leagues were automatically unlocked in the Demonic Pacts League. Additionally, pet transmogs obtained during the Demonic Pacts League will be automatically unlocked in future leagues.
Additional information for new players can be found in the new player guide.
Changes from previous Leagues
- Players began in Varlamore rather than Misthalin, which was completely inaccessible
- Zanaris and the Abyssal Area were available in all regions

- Varlamore Part 3, including:

- Halberds reaching certain flying bosses (Dawn, Kree'arra, and Vespula)
- Changes to certain loot tables, primarily reducing some resource drops from certain bosses
- Although Sailing was newly released, it was not enabled for Demonic Pacts League
Rules
As with previous Leagues, all players were Ironmen. In the Demonic Pacts League, players began in Yama's Lair with an exit to Civitas illa Fortis and were locked to the region of Varlamore. Misthalin was completely inaccessible in this League. After progressing through the game mode, players were able to unlock additional regions. All players unlocked Karamja as the first area unlock, and could unlock up to three additional regions by completing tasks.
Players began with a 5x experience rate, level 3 Herblore, and level 5 Runecraft. Droprates for eligible items were multiplied by 2x, and minigame points were multiplied by 4x. These rates could be improved through unlocking relic tiers.
The following equipment could be obtained by speaking with the Leagues Tutor in Yama's Lair:

Tasks
Completing league tasks was the main way to progress in the Demonic Pacts League. Completing tasks earned players League Points and unlocked relics and other rewards at specific thresholds. Tasks spanned five different difficulty levels: Easy, Medium, Hard, Elite, and Master. Some tasks were area-specific, while others were more general and could be completed in multiple or even any region. Every area had roughly the same number of obtainable points from tasks.
Examples of area specific tasks:
- Travel using the Quetzal Transport System
- Complete 10 Hunters' Rumours
- Defeat Amoxliatl
- Steal 25 valuables
- Pet a xolo in Civitas

Examples of general tasks that could be completed in any region:

As players progressed and complete tasks, additional areas could be unlocked. All players began with access to Varlamore, and unlocked Karamja as their first area unlock after completing 80 League tasks. Subsequent unlocks were at 200, 300, and 450 tasks.
Misthalin was not accessible in this league.
Universal areas

Echo bosses and echo equipment
Echo bosses are a returning system from Raging Echoes League that grant players the opportunity to fight challenging variants of existing bosses, targeting difficulty levels more suited to the power level that players attain during Leagues.
Overview
In order to access an echo boss, the player must acquire the region's echo orb from the non-echo variant of the boss and have it in their inventory while entering the boss area. Unlike Awakener's orbs, echo orbs are not consumed upon entry, and only one orb is needed for access to the boss for the entire League.
The regular bosses are guaranteed to drop echo orbs after exceeding 1x the nominal drop rate, and echo bosses are guaranteed to drop echo equipment after 2x the drop rate.

Demonic pacts
Demonic Pacts are a complementary system to relics that focuses purely on providing powerful and unique combat boosts across the three main styles. Pacts are similar to combat masteries from past events, however the progression is less linear and has many more options.
There are over 130 individual nodes in the pact tree which are allocated with Pact Points. Although a total of 44 Pact Points can be acquired from any three regions (not including Varlamore, Karamja and general tasks), players can only spend up to 40 of these pacts. Two of these are given during the Leagues tutorial. Demonic Pact tasks are indicated with a demon's head inside the helm.
The Demonic Pact tree can be completely reset up to 6 times, with warning messages asking the player if they wish to reset their tree. The first two resets are given for free, another is given after receiving kill credit for The Hueycoatl, and the remaining three are acquired by defeating the region's echo boss.
Pact bonuses are limited in PvP. Stat boosts, attack speed increases, and melee range increases apply, but effects like Thorns, Echoes, and Blindbag do not work against players.
Relics
Relics are powerful buffs which are unlocked with League Points. Relics offer bonuses that boost actions related to gathering, processing, teleportation, and combat. Upon completing the league tutorial, players are presented with the choice of their first relic between three. Additional relics can be unlocked as players reach certain point thresholds and unlock new tiers.
Once players choose a relic from a tier, it will be permanently unlocked and another relic cannot be chosen from that tier.

| 13 April | Starting Tasks
You can now take a look at Easy & Medium Varlamore, Karamja & Global Leagues Tasks on the Wiki 📜 |
- Decoding the April 5th reveal: cipher
Solution - Filename: Remove the numbers
- Top: Decrypt using a Vigenère cipher with key hwaugfwyujciayyhioiwa, subtracting key letter values from the ciphertext modulo 26.
- Middle: Apply an Atbash substitution where each letter maps to its alphabet mirror (A↔Z, B↔Y, etc.)
- Bottom: Reverse the string to obtain the plaintext.
- The probable starting region was revealed via a QR code displayed at the end of the 2026 birthday livestream. The code redirected to a promotional image with a URL that could be solved as a cryptic crossword. It contained the words "starting virtue revered as confused evil mineral realm (9)".
Solution - "Starting virtue revered as" indicates taking the starting letters of "virtue", "revered", and "as", which are V R A.
- "Confused" indicates that the clue solution will need to have the letters rearranged.
- Another word for "evil" is mal, meaning "evil" in several languages, including Spanish.
- Finally, another word for "mineral" is ore.
- Anagramming VRAMALORE gives Varlamore, the name of a "realm" or region in Gielinor.
- The (9) at the end indicates the answer has 9 letters.
- A scroll on the lefthand side of the image contained Morse code which translates to
https://osrs.game/vidate. This link redirects to a YouTube video revealing the 15 April release date. - Weeks after it was initially published, the Leagues announcement blog added Wingdings text "✋︎︎■︎︎ ♐︎︎♋︎︎♍︎︎⧫︎︎📪︎︎ 💣︎︎♓︎︎⬧︎︎⧫︎︎♒︎︎♋︎︎●︎︎♓︎︎■︎︎ ⬥︎︎□︎︎■︎︎🕯︎︎⧫︎︎ ♏︎︎❖︎︎♏︎︎■︎︎ ♌︎︎♏︎︎ ♋︎︎❖︎︎♋︎︎♓︎︎●︎︎♋︎︎♌︎︎●︎︎♏︎︎ ⧫︎︎□︎︎ ♏︎︎⌧︎︎◻︎︎●︎︎□︎︎❒︎︎♏︎︎ ⧫︎︎♒︎︎♓︎︎⬧︎︎ ⧫︎︎♓︎︎❍︎︎♏︎︎ ♋︎︎❒︎︎□︎︎◆︎︎■︎︎♎︎︎ ⧫︎︎♒︎︎♋︎︎■︎︎🙵⬧︎︎ ⧫︎︎□︎︎ ✡︎︎♋︎︎❍︎︎♋︎︎📬︎︎📬︎︎📬︎︎" under "Area-Locking," which translates to "I︎n︎ f︎a︎c︎t︎,︎ M︎i︎s︎t︎h︎a︎l︎i︎n︎ w︎o︎n︎'︎t︎ e︎v︎e︎n︎ b︎e︎ a︎v︎a︎i︎l︎a︎b︎l︎e︎ t︎o︎ e︎x︎p︎l︎o︎r︎e︎ t︎h︎i︎s︎ t︎i︎m︎e︎ a︎r︎o︎u︎n︎d︎ t︎h︎a︎n︎ks︎ t︎o︎ Y︎a︎m︎a︎.︎.︎.︎"
