Demonic Pacts League/Guide/Hunter

Overview
Training Hunter in the Demonic Pacts League is fairly straightforward, as many Hunter methods are available in the starting region of Varlamore. The earliest Hunter training method available, with no other region unlocks, is crimson swifts at level 1 Hunter, which can be trapped with bird snares in the Tlati Rainforest.
At level 17 Hunter, implings can start being caught in the overworld or in Puro-Puro. At level 46 Hunter, the Hunter Guild and Hunters' Rumours become available. Note that completion of At First Light is required for master rumours.
Bird snares and box traps can be purchased from the Fortis General Store, or from Imia's Supplies in the Hunter Guild after reaching level 46 Hunter. A one-time free butterfly net and 7 impling jars can be obtained from Elnock Inquisitor in Puro-Puro, accessible through Zanaris. A teasing stick can be obtained from a spawn on Karamja, once it is unlocked.
As Eagles' Peak is auto-completed for all players, box traps will be immediately usable.
The following relics affect Hunter:
Woodsman gives a 100% success rate on all Hunter actions, as well as attracting animals faster, giving double loot and XP, and all traps dropping a random herb or tree seed when harvested. Hunters' Rumours also give double XP and hunters' loot sacks will have twice as many loot rolls. Jarred implings also give double loot, which will be noted, and impling jars will never break. Resources harvested from Hunter traps can go directly to the bank (a toggleable effect). Finally, quetzal whistles will not lose charges.
Equipment
The Leagues Tutor will provide a one-time free impling jar in Yama's Lair.
He will also exchange jarred implings for a magic butterfly net and sell 10 additional impling jars daily. Finally, a teasing stick can be obtained from a spawn on Karamja✓, once it is unlocked.
An alternate way to acquire Hunter equipment is through a hunter kit. The hunting experts in Kandarin✓ and
Fremennik✓ provide these for free, or one can be produced by casting the Lunar spell Hunter Kit (requires
Fremennik✓).
For more conventional access to equipment, there are also three hunter shops available: one each in Varlamore✓ (requires 46 Hunter),
Desert✓, and
Kandarin✓.
The huntsman's kit and pieces of the guild hunter outfit can be acquired from completing Hunters' Rumours. Hunter outfits can be made with Pellem or the Prifddinas' Seamstress
, although they are of little use.
Training
Traditional Hunter Methods
Hunters' Rumours
With 46 or higher, Hunters' Rumours are a very attractive choice for training due to the rewards provided in hunters' loot sacks, which contain resources for other skills such as logs, herbs, hunter meats, bird's nests, and sun-kissed bones/shards and queztal feed, which is required for some tasks.
Completing rumours also awards bonus experience upon turn in of the rare creature parts equal to , where:
- is the player's Hunter level after completing a rumour
- The value of is dependent on the tier of rumour completed:
- 50 when turning in a Novice or Adept rumour
- 55 when turning in an Expert rumour
- 60 when turning in a Master rumour
Both the XP and the loot received is doubled if the Woodsman relic is taken.
Players doing adept rumors with Guild Hunter Cervus (Adept) should avoid unlocking Karamja as this will cause him to offer the less desired Horned graahk task.
By holding off on unlocking additional regions, players can optimize their list of creatures to hunt. If the player does not unlock Kandarin✓/
Fremennik✓/
Desert✓, they will only give tasks within Varlamore. Once 91 Hunter is reached and the player has completed At First Light, they can use Guild Hunter Wolf (Master) for their tasks. Avoiding Kandarin will ensure that Wolf will only assign tasks within Varlamore.
