The huntsman's kit can be obtained from hunters' loot sacks, which are received as rewards upon completing Hunters' Rumours. The huntsman's kit can be used to store various hunting equipment, though they cannot be used whilst stored.

The kit has a maximum capacity of up to 32 different types of items that can be stored at once, so it is unable to contain all types of storable items at one time.

Items stored in the kit are not lost upon death, and remain stored when reclaimed. Only one kit can be owned at a time.

The kit can be given to Verity for a master-level hunters' loot sack which excludes uniques, although it can only be subsequently reobtained by receiving it again.

The kit will empty from the last slot in the kit.

Because the huntsman's kit stores imps-in-boxes, it can be taken to extended combat to effectively serve as an unlimited deposit box.

The following Hunter-related items cannot be stored in the huntsman's kit:
