A magic box is a type of trap used in the Hunter skill. The magic box trapping technique is used to catch imps. With 71 Hunter, the player may set up a magic box. When an imp passes the trap, it may be caught, but only when the player is not standing on the trap.
If the prey is successfully caught, the magic box will enclose the imp inside the box. Doing this creates an Imp-in-a-box, which can be used to bank 2 items or stacks of items, although it cannot be used while in combat or above level 30 Wilderness.
Adding bait (any bead) to a trap will increase the catch rate by +3%.[1] It is not possible to smoke magic boxes, unlike other hunter traps, to increase the catch rate. Doing so yields the message, Due to the low increase of the catch rate, as well as the impracticality and cost of bringing beads to bait the traps, it is generally considered not worth baiting the trap.
Magic boxes, as well as magic imp box packs containing 100 magic boxes, may be bought from Aleck's Hunter Emporium. in Yanille, the Nardah Hunter Shop. in Nardah, or Imia's Supplies in the Hunter Guild.
Having a magic box in your inventory prevents you from entering the Puro-Puro mini-game. Since magic boxes can be stored inside the Huntsman's kit, players can store the magic box before going inside the Puro-Puro mini-game. Players who attempt to activate the magic box within the mini-game will receive the message,
Creatures
The following Hunter creature may be caught using the box trapping technique.
Multiple traps
Magic box trapping can be done with multiple traps at once, with the maximum amount of traps depending on the player's Hunter level.
