Gu'Tanoth

Yanille (pronounced "ya-NEEL")[1] is a members-only city south of Ardougne, known for hosting Wizards' Guild. Due to the threat of ogres from nearby Gu'Tanoth, the city is surrounded by tall walls, and is heavily patrolled by guards.

Transportation

A number of methods exist for teleporting to or near Yanille:

History

The following lore is sourced from Watchtower, Postbag from the Hedge, dialogue with the Watchtower Wizard, dialogue with Colonel Radick, and Eastern Discovery.

It is unknown what year Yanille was founded, but it was originally built by both soldiers and mages.[2] At some point, an ancient spell was placed to ward off ogres by the Watchtower Wizard, sustained by a crystal-powered machine. At some point, the crystals powering the machine broke, until an adventurer helped fix them.

There has been ongoing tension in the city due to the threat of ogres in the area. While gnomes and humans were able to sign a treaty of peace with the elves following the God Wars, the ogres of Gu'Tanoth didn't sign. In the time since then, operations have been largely defensive; however, in the year 169, a H.A.M. member saw this conflict as a reason to try to destroy the nearby ogre burial ground of Jiggig.

Locations
