A jug of water is a jug filled up on a water source such as a fountain or sink; it cannot be filled using a well. The humidify spell will also turn any empty jugs in the player's inventory into jugs of water. Jugs of water cannot be consumed; they are only used in the making of other things, such as: doughs, jugs of wine, soft clay, mud pie, and filling waterskins.

A free jug of water can be obtained by speaking with Hassan in the Al Kharid Palace.

One jug of water is required during the Monk's Friend quest to sober up Brother Cedric.

The closest water source to a bank for filling many jugs is the Hosidius Kitchen, but banks in the Farming Guild or Aldarin also have nearby water sources, along with the Lumbridge Castle basement if the Recipe for Disaster quest has been started.

In free-to-play, the closest water source to a bank would be the Waterpump next to the Hairdresser going to Falador west bank; another close water source to a bank would be the water fountain in the centre of Varrock square going to Varrock west bank.
