A mud pie is a special type of pie that does not restore Hitpoints, and instead can be used as an equipable weapon for PvP. The pie does no damage and is not stackable, but can be thrown at other players to reduce the target's current run energy by 25%, rounded down.[1] Mud pies have no effect on NPCs. When throwing a mud pie, a pie dish will drop underneath the target. As mud pies are considered a thrown weapon, a player targeted by mud pies should wear armour with high Ranged defence to lower their accuracy.

It can be obtained by baking a raw mud pie on a cooking range, requiring level 29 Cooking and granting 128 experience when successful. When cooking there is a chance to fail, resulting in burnt pie. The burn rate decreases as the player's Cooking level increases, and it will stop burning entirely at Cooking level 63. Alternatively, casting the Bake Pie spell from the lunar spellbook will always create a pie without burning it.

Mud pie is a possible task from Romily Weaklax in the Cooks' Guild.

Steps
1. Use a pastry dough on a pie dish to make a pie shell
2. Use compost on the pie shell to make a part mud pie (compost)
3. Use a bucket of water on the part mud pie (compost) to make a part mud pie (water)
4. Use clay on the part mud pie (water) to make a raw mud pie
5. Cook the raw mud pie on a range to finish a mud pie
