Raw potatoes are a food item that can be picked from fields around Gielinor or grown through the Farming skill at level 1 with potato seeds. They heal 1 hitpoint when eaten raw. When picking potatoes from fields, members may randomly receive 1 potato seed.

They are used in the following recipes:

• Baked potato (must be cooked on a range, not a fire)
• Veg ball (Gnome cooking)
• Stew
• Curry
• Fish pie (admiral and regular, which temporarily boost Fishing level by 5 and 3, respectively)

Raw potatoes are purchasable from various stores for 1 coin each. Hudo at the Grand Tree has a stock of 10; Cobado's Groceries a stock of 10; Frenita in Yanille a stock of 5; and Wydin in Port Sarim a stock of 1, to name a few.

Members can store up to 10 potatoes in an empty sack, creating a sack of potatoes. 1 sack of potatoes is needed to protect growing onions. Adding potatoes to a compost bin makes regular compost.

Members can obtain a lot of potatoes in a relatively short time, without waiting for farming patches, by taking plenty of empty sacks to any potato field and filling them to create a sack of potatoes. Another method for members is to pick potatoes at the potato field north of the Lumbridge cow field and note them at the tool leprechaun by the hops patch to the west, or similarly at the potato field and tool leprechaun just south of Ortus Farm. Ironmen looking to stock up on large numbers very quickly to make tuna potatoes will find Sigmund the Merchant in Rellekka to their liking, depositing with Peer the Seer a short distance away.
