A banana is a type of food that restores 2 Hitpoints when eaten. It can be found on trees in tropical locations, such as Karamja and Ape Atoll, or bought from various stores. Six bananas can be picked at a time from a banana tree grown by planting a banana sapling in a fruit tree patch with 33 Farming. They can also be obtained by using the spell Bones to Bananas, which converts bones of all types in the caster's inventory to bananas.

About and uses

A single banana is required to cast the standard spellbook Ape Atoll Teleport with 64 Magic. The teleport can be added to a portal chamber or portal nexus, requiring 100 and 1,000 bananas respectively.

10 bananas are required for the Pirate's Treasure quest and 5 are required for Monkey Madness I. During the quest Tai Bwo Wannai Trio, a banana must be sliced using a knife or other sharp sword to create a sliced banana.

A basket of bananas can be created by using 1-5 bananas on an empty basket. Five full baskets of banana are required for a gardener to look after curry trees.

A banana is one of the three items retrieved from satchels obtained through the Creature Creation activity.

The following money making guide is available for Banana:

• Most weapons with an attack style that's considered Slash can be used to cut a banana into Sliced banana. This can result in some humorous or nonsensical combinations.
  • Examples include cutting bananas with an abyssal whip, some beach boxing gloves or a butterfly net.
  • This interaction is unique to bananas, they cannot be used to slice other fruits or food items.
• A one-time medium clue scroll can be rarely obtained (1/256 chance^[1]) from feeding a monkey bananas. When this happens, a message appears in the player's chatbox saying "The monkey chews on the banana and spits out a clue!".
