Willow branches are used for weaving baskets on a loom. They can be obtained by using secateurs on a willow that has fully grown in a tree patch, using the Farming skill. Branches will begin growing after you check the health of the willow tree. The tree will produce one willow branch every 5 minutes, up to a maximum of 6 at a time. This means that if you wait for more than 30 minutes, you will only be able to cut 6 before having to wait 5 minutes to cut another. Occasionally, it may be possible for a branch to regrow while in the process of cutting branches, resulting in 7 branches from a single harvest. Because branches have no visual indication of being grown, this is not immediately obvious.

• 12 willow branches are required for the Enlightened Journey quest. They can be obtained during the quest itself. However, it is much quicker to buy them.
• 6 willow branches are required to make a basket on a loom, which is a task in the medium Falador Diary.

• Chopping down a planted willow tree, to the stump, will destroy any willow branches that were available for trimming. Willow branches will only start being produced when the tree has respawned.
