The crate is located at the back of Wydin's Food Store in Port Sarim. Searching the crate gives players the option to take a banana. Players can take as many as they want from the crate, one at a time.
During Pirate's Treasure, the player smuggles a karamjan rum into a crate of bananas which is delivered to Wydin's store, where they must retrieve the rum from the crate.
Access to the back of the Food Store requires partial completion of Pirate's Treasure and a white apron equipped.
