The Security Guard can be found on the 1^st floor of the Port Sarim jail. He hands out the security book. Claiming that book from him is an easy task in the Falador Diary.

He is the twin brother of the now-removed Account security tutor, who used to be in the Lumbridge Graveyard.

The Security Guard used to be a random event. If the player had their recovery questions set, he would give them a security book and possibly a reward. If the player already had a security book in their inventory, he would not provide another one.

The possible rewards included:

• 20, 40, 80, 160, 320, or 640 coins
• Uncut gems (sapphires, emeralds, rubies, or diamonds)
• Half key (members only)
• Cosmic talisman (members only)
• Spinach roll
• Kebab

The player was recommended by the Security Guard to visit the Stronghold of Security. Despite advertising the Stronghold, he could still appear when you actually were in the Stronghold.

If ignored for too long, the guard would attack the player. He could be attacked and killed, but this was not recommended: despite his max hit of 2, he had high Defence and a total of 250 Hitpoints, and each point of damage dealt to him yielded only a quarter of an experience point. Furthermore, he was immune to poison. If the player took too long to kill him, he would eventually disappear. If the player teleported away, he would say '[He/She] got away!' before disappearing.
