Rune darts are throwing weapons requiring level 40 Ranged to wield. They are created by combining rune dart tips with feathers. Rune darts can be poisoned and can be wielded with a shield or god book for protection.

To create rune darts the player must have completed the Tourist Trap quest and have at least level 89 Smithing and level 81 Fletching. Players can smith rune bars into rune dart tips. Each rune bar creates 10 rune dart tips and gives the player 75 Smithing experience. Feathers then must be added to create the rune darts. 18.8 Fletching experience is rewarded per rune dart.

Smithing and fletching 10 rune darts while in Varrock is required to complete the Elite Varrock Diary.
