Lava Strykewyrms are Slayer monsters requiring 62 Slayer to kill, located in the Charred Dungeon beneath Charred Island, requiring 60 Sailing to reach, as well as in the Wyrmscraig Cavern after partial completion of Fallen From Grace. They can be killed as part of a wyrm task, and are known for their dragon metal sheet drop, which is significantly more common when on a wyrm task.

Lava Strykewyrms attack with both melee and ranged. However, they use only melee when attacked from within one tile range of them, and only ranged when attacked from a distance. This means that all damage can be avoided with protection prayers. Fire spells will heal them equal to the amount hit. They are located in a single-way combat area and cannons cannot be used against them. Like wyrms, they are vulnerable to dragonbane weapons such as the dragon hunter lance.

With the Slayer reward Bigger and Badder unlocked for 50 Slayer reward points, there is a chance for their superior version, the magma strykewyrm, to spawn. The Slayer reward Can of Wyrms increases the number of wyrms assigned to 200-250 for the price of 100 Slayer reward points.

Just like regular wyrms, Lava Strykewyrms can be safespotted by out-ranging their attacks, but it requires a weapon with an attack range of 9 or 10.

In RuneScape 3, they are a high-level Slayer mob that attacks with all three attack styles, unlike their Old School RuneScape counterparts that have a much lower Slayer level requirement and simpler mechanics, attacking only with melee and ranged.
