The Abyssal Sire is an abyssal demon Slayer boss that requires level 85 Slayer to kill. To access the boss, the player must have visited the Abyss at least once, either through the Mage of Zamorak or the Fairy Ring network.[1] As with all other Slayer bosses, the Sire can only be fought when assigned abyssal demons (outside of Krystilia) or itself as a Slayer task. Although it resides in a multi-combat area, it is a solo-only boss.
According to The Overseer, the Abyssal Sires are the engineers of the Abyss from a time before the God Wars. As their resources began to deplete and they had no means to escape, they constructed the Nexus and remained there in deep stasis.
It is known for dropping the unsired, which can be placed in the Font of Consumption behind The Overseer for a chance of obtaining an abyssal whip, abyssal dagger, abyssal head, jar of miasma, a part of the abyssal bludgeon - the axon, claw, or spine - or, rarely, an abyssal orphan.
The Sire was introduced in a Slayer expansion developer blog on 2 June 2015 and subsequently polled with 89.8% of the votes in favour of its addition.

The Sire is located in the Abyssal Nexus, south of the Abyss used for Runecraft, and may be reached quickly using fairy ring DIP.
There are four chambers in the Nexus where a Sire can be found, allowing multiple people to fight the Sire per world, similar to Cerberus. Eyes at the entrance of each chamber can be peeked at to see if the Sire is being fought by another player.
Mechanics
As with all demons, the Sire is susceptible to the effects of demonbane weapons. Having auto-retaliate turned off is highly recommended in order to avoid attacking the spawns.
The fight consists of three phases:
- In the first phase players must kill the Sire's four respiratory systems in the corners of the room, which each grant 50 Slayer experience when killed. The Sire can be disoriented by using Shadow spells on the Ancient spellbook, or by dealing 75 damage to it with Ranged or Magic, temporarily disabling the tentacles protecting the respiratory systems. It will attack by either spawning poisonous fumes underneath the player, dealing rapid damage in a 3x3 AoE that can inflict poison starting at 8 damage, or launching spawns from its mouth, which attack with ranged or melee. If ignored, the spawn will mature into stronger scion.
- At the start of the second phase, the Sire gets off its throne to attack the player. Damage dealt to the Sire while it is transitioning between phases is reduced by 50%. Its standard melee attacks can hit up to 66, which is reduced to 26 by using Protect from Melee. It has an attack range of three, but standing more than two tiles away from it will result in it either launching spawns or spawning poisonous fumes. Likewise, attacking it from more than two tiles away will cause it to forcibly teleport the player next to it before retaliating with portal energy, which deals high damage if not avoided.
- When the Sire gets below 210 health, it will walk to the middle of the room and stop moving. It no longer attacks with melee, instead creating many spawns and summoning a miasma pool under the player every few seconds, which must be avoided. When the Sire gets below 140 health, it will teleport the player next to itself and trigger a highly damaging area-of-effect attack; the damage can be avoided by running directly away from the Sire (at least 2 tiles) as soon as the player is teleported.
When the Sire dies, any spawns and scions it summoned will die off alongside it, though it is possible to get hit from a dying minion. The Sire respawns immediately.

- It is one of the few monsters that does not have a defensive animation; rather, it loops its idle animation instead.
- Despite being a solo-only boss, the Sire's area-of-effect attack at 33% health and poison fumes can harm other players if they are in range.
- The sire cannot be defeated before its explosion attack. If the player manages to kill it before then it will respawn where the fight left off with about 1/3 of its max health
