Tekton is one of the bosses encountered in the Chambers of Xeric. He was the artisan that created the chambers.
Tekton regenerate its stats at a rate of 1 per 15 ticks, faster than the standard rate of 1 per 100 ticks.[2]
History
Based on his journal, Tekton was one of the few that were still loyal to Xeric after the majority of Great Kourend usurped him. He built many grand buildings to worship Xeric, though it is unknown if they are still around. He also believes he had a family and children, though their current status is unknown along with any potential descendants.
He oversaw the creation of the chambers under Mount Quidamortem, in addition to creating a new temple. Xeric was pleased that Tekton gave him the ability to use cave magic, but was disappointed when everyone else began using it, especially the "nasty high priest". Xeric ordered him to destroy the temple, which he did, but only slightly in the event that Xeric changed his mind. Tekton unsuccessfully tried to teach Xeric how to use the magic without the aid of the temple.
Xeric later took him into the caves and gave him immortality by putting his soul in a new, indestructible body, enchanting his anvil and teaching him how to repair his new body. While he gained a large amount of power, Tekton soon noted he was unable to manipulate the crystals or remember much of his past, though he believed that he wanted his strength, not intelligence. Xeric's companions began mocking Tekton afterwards and eventually cut off all contact with him. Tekton, believing that his safety could not be guaranteed if he wandered around, has since remained by his anvil to improve himself, awaiting Xeric's return so he could serve his master once more.
Mechanics
Tekton is seen working with his magnetic anvil. As soon as someone gets near him, he will notice them and begin the fight.
Tekton is immune to Range and takes 80% reduced Magic damage.[3] He is also immune to binding effects, should the spell somehow land on him.
The first elder maul or dragon warhammer special that makes contact with Tekton will always land as a damaging successful hit. If multiple specials land on the same tick, it will only apply to one of the attacks. After the first successful hit, further specials will act as normal. If the special from an elder maul or dragon warhammer fails to hit, it will still drain 5% of his Defence. A bandos godsword that fails to land will drain 10 Defence levels instead.
Tekton will walk to a player until he makes contact with them, after which he will stop moving and enter a combat stance. Tekton will turn into a solid NPC, meaning it is not possible to walk under him. He will proceed to attack with melee, attacking both the area in front of him and to his right simultaneously. If multiple players are surrounding Tekton, he will randomly change direction, so all players should ideally attack from the same direction to avoid the chance of getting hit.
After a short duration of fighting, or if Tekton is unable to scan anyone in melee range on his next attack, he will stop and return to the anvil, slowly repairing himself for small amounts of health (roughly 1.11 to 1.33%) every few ticks. At the same time, sparks will fly from the lava in the chamber, with all players getting targeted by two sparks. These sparks have a 3x3 AoE and getting hit by them will deal moderate damage, even if from another player, so it is important to avoid them. Once Tekton finishes repairing himself (around ~10 or so seconds), he will stop, enter an enraged form and attempt to walk to a player to enter his combat stance again. In his enraged form, Tekton's max hit and defence bonuses increase, so it is important to continue avoiding his attacks as necessary. The enraged stance will only last briefly before he returns to normal, which in turn drops all bonuses from the enraged form.
Due to Tekton being the first room in Challenge Mode and Full Layout raids, both can be ideal places to practice as the boss mechanics can be unforgiving to small mistakes.
