Vorkath (roughly translated as pathetic failure/weakling/runt in the dragonkin's language) is a draconic boss-monster first encountered during the Dragon Slayer II quest as the penultimate boss. Created by Zorgoth during the Fourth Age's Dragonkin Conflicts, the blue dragon is one of his subjects that has survived his experiments in the laboratory beneath the dragonkin fortress on Ungael. Despite its phenomenal strength, Zorgoth abandoned Vorkath due to its lack of aggression, leaving it as a 'distraction' for any humans that would stumble onto the island.
Vorkath is considered a blue dragon and zombie for the purpose of a Slayer task. As Vorkath is also undead, the Salve amulet and its variants will work on him. However, it does not stack with the Slayer helmet. Vorkath is also immune to recoil damage.
After completing Dragon Slayer II, players may fight Vorkath again, with increased stats and rewards.
Location
Vorkath can be found on the island of Ungael, in the centre of its crater. The island is accessible by talking to Torfinn the sailor on the third dock from west in Rellekka. It can also be accessed via the "Ungael" option on Torfinn or the "Travel" option on his Fremennik boat after travelling to Ungael for the first time.
Players can enter or exit the crater by climbing over ice chunks blocking the way.
Fight overview
Vorkath is able to use all three combat styles, though it can't use melee unless the player is standing next to it, including diagonally across. Similarly to the King Black Dragon, it makes use of three dragonfire types; a standard dragonfire, a venomous dragonfire, and a prayer-disabling dragonfire, which is a higher tier of dragonfire and thus requires better protection to maximize damage mitigation. The final common attack is a fireball it launches high in the air that must be dodged; it will instantly kill regardless of the player's dragonfire protection if directly struck, or deal an immense amount of damage if next to it, which is similarly unaffected by dragonfire protection.
After six normal/dragonfire attacks, it will use one of two special attacks and alternate between them (i.e., it will use one after 6 regular attacks, then the other after 6 more, and so on):
- Freezing the player in place and summoning a Zombified Spawn that will approach the player and explode violently if not killed, dealing damage scaled to its health; at full health, it will deal 60 damage. Until the spawn is killed/explodes, Vorkath is immune to damage.
- Launching acid pools around the area and rapidly spitting fireballs at the player that must be dodged or they will deal high damage. During this time, Vorkath has a flat 50% damage reduction.
Once Vorkath's health is depleted, it will return to its original unaggressive stance. It can immediately be reawoken for another battle.

Drops
Drop rates are estimated based on 15,512,839 samples from the Drop Rate Project, unless otherwise cited.
Upon subduing Vorkath, the drops will be placed in one of eight different tiles surrounding Vorkath. The spot in which they are dropped are dependent on the player's position after the death animation finishes. For example, standing directly south of the boss (as indicated by the blue marker by Vorkath's head) will result in the loot being dropped on the blue tile marker. If the player was standing left from that marker, they would appear on the south-west corner tile instead, as indicated by the red marker.
In addition to the 100% drops, the player will also have two rolls on Vorkath's drop table, excluding tertiary items, which have only one roll. The displayed drop chances represent a single roll. Drops will remain on the ground for 3 hours or until the player leaves the instanced area.[1]
The average Vorkath kill is worth 151,282.23. The average Vorkath kill while on a Konar task is worth 153,008.21. The average high alch value of a Vorkath kill is 39,177.91.

Trivia
- Vorkath's sleeping examine is a reference to the phrase "let sleeping dogs lie", which means to avoid interfering with situations where nothing is currently wrong.
- Vorkath had a festive override wearing a Santa hat during the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 Christmas events.
- Vorkath is the second piece of content conceived in Old School RuneScape that went on to be used in RuneScape 3. Like in Old School RuneScape, Vorkath is an undead dragon created by Zorgoth on Ungael, but was disposed of due to lack of aggression. It was later raised from the dead by Zemouregal to be used as a weapon to attack Fort Forinthry in the Battle of Forinthry. Unlike in Old School RuneScape, Vorkath has all four of its legs intact, due to the technical limitations of rigging a fluid 3-legged dragon.
- RuneScape 3's Vorkath, in normal mode, has 750,000 lifepoints, equal to 7,500 hitpoints in Old School RuneScape, meaning the Old School RuneScape version of Vorkath has 10 times less health than its RuneScape 3 counterpart.
