Slayer Masters are NPCs who serve as guides to the Slayer skill and assign tasks to players requiring them to kill specific monsters a certain number of times. Each Slayer Master has a different combat level requirement for players to be assigned tasks from them. Slayer Masters with higher combat level requirements will generally assign longer tasks with more difficult monsters. Players receive Slayer reward points upon completing tasks with bonus points being awarded at regular intervals (except for tasks from Turael and Spria). These points can be redeemed for a variety of different rewards, unlocks, and upgrades which enhance a player's Slayer experience.

All Slayer Masters sell Slayer equipment at an equipment shop. These items are helpful and sometimes essential to specific Slayer tasks. They also provide rewards in exchange for Slayer points.

  • Offers a choice of 2 tasks, or 3 after completing 50 tasks from him
  • Tasks offer modifiers, offering bonuses to task length, reward points, certain drop rates, or Slayer experience
  • Tasks are more expensive to skip (100 points), cannot be skipped with Turael, and have only 2 block slots
  • He only assigns tasks that have superior variants
  • The only Slayer Master who can assign Venators, specifically
  • He is one of two Slayer Masters who can assign Rock slugs, Infernal Mages, Hydras and the Alchemical Hydra boss
  1. ^ The combat level requirements can be bypassed by achieving 99 Slayer and showing the Slayer Master the Slayer cape.
  2. ^ 2.0 2.1 After the events of While Guthix Sleeps, Turael and Duradel are replaced by Aya and Kuradal, respectively. Information on them as Slayer Masters can be found below.
  3. ^ During the events of While Guthix Sleeps, Mazchna is temporarily replaced by Achtryn.
  4. ^ After the events of Monkey Madness II, Steve replaces Nieve as the Slayer Master in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Information on Steve as a Slayer Master can be found below.
  5. ^ Slayer points are not granted by default. However, if a task with the slayer points modifier is chosen, Mortimer can grant between 5 and 40 Slayer points.

Turael/Aya

The location of Turael/Aya.

Turael gives the easiest Slayer tasks and is ideal for lower level players. They have no minimum combat or Slayer level requirements before players may receive assignments. After the events of While Guthix Sleeps, Aya replaces Turael as the Slayer Master.

Blocking a task with this master costs 40 Slayer points, and the block list is shared with Spria.

If a player of any level receives an assignment they do not wish to do, Turael may consider giving players an easier assignment if they talk to him effectively "skipping" the hardest assignment. However, this only works if the assignment is something that he doesn't assign. For example, if Chaeldar assigns a player Desert Lizards, then the Burthorpe Slayer Master cannot change their task, as he too assigns Desert Lizards. Note that it is impossible for a player to get Turael to reassign a task that he gave out.

He is located in a small house south of the general store in Burthorpe. The fastest ways to reach him are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Turael will not grant any Slayer points. As well, if it was a task replacing one from another Master your task streak will be reset. So, if you're on the 48th task and take a replacement one from Turael, your completed tasks will be set to 0.

Spria

The location of Spria.

Spria is Turael's daughter, and has the same task list as him, in addition to assigning sourhogs. She plays a role in the quest A Porcine of Interest.

Blocking a task with this master costs 40 Slayer points, and the block list is shared with Turael/Aya.

She is located in a small house in Draynor Village. The fastest ways to reach her are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Spria will not grant any Slayer points.

Krystilia

The location of Krystilia.

Krystilia's tasks come with a risk: tasks assigned by her must be done within the Wilderness. She has no minimum combat or Slayer level requirements, and doesn't factor in the player's combat level, meaning she may give players tasks much harder than their combat level would otherwise indicate.

Blocking a task with this master costs 100 Slayer points.

While completing Krystilia's tasks, players may obtain Larran's keys, the drop rate of which is dependent on the monster's combat level. They can be used to open a small or big chest for additional rewards.

Assignments from her have a separate task completion counter than assignments from other Slayer Masters, so players will have to complete five of her Slayer assignments to begin earning Slayer reward points. If the player chooses to reset an assignment Krystilia gives before the five assignments are completed, the counter will reset to zero and the player will need to complete five more tasks before they will receive reward points.

She can be found by the jailhouse in Edgeville, north-east of the bank. The fastest ways to reach her are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Krystilia grants:

  • 25 points per task
  • 125 points for every 10th
  • 375 points for every 50th
  • 625 points for every 100th
  • 875 points for every 250th
  • 1,250 points for every 1,000th

Mazchna/Achtryn

The location of Mazchna/Achtryn.

Mazchna is the third easiest Slayer Master. The minimum combat level requirement to be assigned tasks from him is 20. During the events of While Guthix Sleeps, Mazchna is temporarily replaced by Achtryn.

Blocking a task with this master costs 50 Slayer points.

Mazchna is located north-east of Canifis. The fastest ways to reach him are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Mazchna grants:

  • 6 Slayer points per normal task[1]
  • 30 points for every 10th[1]
  • 90 points for every 50th[1]
  • 150 points for every 100th
  • 210 points for every 250th
  • 300 points for every 1,000th

Vannaka

The location of Vannaka.

Vannaka is a mid-level Slayer Master. The minimum combat level requirement to be assigned tasks from Vannaka is 40.

Blocking a task with this master costs 60 Slayer points.

He is located in the Edgeville Dungeon, east of the Wilderness gate. The fastest ways to reach him are to use:

Note that if accessing Edgeville Dungeon through the entry west of the cook's guild, a brass key is required.

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Vannaka grants:

  • 8 Slayer points per normal task[1]
  • 40 points for every 10th[1]
  • 120 points for every 50th[1]
  • 200 points per 100th
  • 280 points per 250th
  • 400 points per 1,000th

Chaeldar

The location of Chaeldar.

Chaeldar is a mid-level Slayer Master. To be assigned monsters from her, you must have completed Lost City and have a minimum combat level of 70.

Blocking a task with this master costs 70 Slayer points.

She is located in Zanaris by the Fairy Queen's Throne. The only ways to reach her are to use any fairy ring to go to Zanaris, or entering the shed in the Lumbridge Swamp whilst wielding a Dramen staff or Lunar staff.

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Chaeldar grants:

  • 10 Slayer points per normal task
  • 50 points for every 10th
  • 150 points for every 50th
  • 250 points per 100th
  • 350 points per 250th
  • 500 points per 1,000th

Konar quo Maten

The location of Konar quo Maten.

Konar quo Maten is the fourth hardest Slayer Master. To receive Slayer tasks from her, a combat level of 75 is required.

Konar is unique amongst the primary Slayer Masters in the fact that in addition to assigning a monster, she will also assign one of multiple locations (if the monster can be found in other places). She will never direct players into the Wilderness, unless it is part of boss Slayer, as that is Krystilia's assignment location.

While completing Konar's tasks, players may obtain a brimstone key, which have drop rates similar to Larran's keys. They can be used to open the brimstone chest near her for additional rewards.

Blocking a task with this master costs 80 Slayer points.

She is located on the summit of Mount Karuulm. The fastest ways to reach the summit are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Konar quo Maten grants:

  • 18 (20)[b 1] Slayer points per normal task
  • 90 (100)[b 1] for every 10th
  • 270 (300)[b 1] for every 50th
  • 450 (500)[b 1] points per 100th task
  • 630 (700)[b 1] points per 250th task
  • 900 (1,000)[b 1] points per 1,000th task
  1. ^ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 After completing the Elite Kourend & Kebos Diary, players will have an increased number of points received per task.

Nieve/Steve

The location of Nieve/Steve.

Nieve is the third hardest Slayer Master. The minimum combat level requirement to be assigned tasks from Nieve is 85. After the events of Monkey Madness II, Steve replaces Nieve as the Slayer Master.

Blocking a task with this master costs 90 Slayer points.

She is located in the Tree Gnome Stronghold, near the yew trees and the southern bank. The fastest ways to reach her are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Nieve grants:

  • 12 (15)[c 1] Slayer points per normal task
  • 60 (75)[c 1] for every 10th
  • 180 (225)[c 1] for every 50th
  • 300 (375)[c 1] for every 100th
  • 420 (525)[c 1] for every 250th
  • 600 (750)[c 1] for every 1,000th
  1. ^ 1.0 1.1 1.2 1.3 1.4 1.5 After completing the Elite Western Provinces Diary, players will have an increased number of points received per task, equivalent to that of Duradel.

Duradel/Kuradal

The location of Duradel/Kuradal.

Duradel is the second hardest Slayer Master. To be assigned tasks from Duradel, players must have a Slayer level of at least 50, and a combat level of at least 100. Also, to be able to enter Shilo Village, where Duradel resides, players must have completed the Shilo Village quest. After the events of While Guthix Sleeps, Kuradal replaces Duradel as the Slayer Master.

Blocking a task with this master costs 100 Slayer points.

He is located on the platform bridging the river at the fishing shop in Shilo Village. Although Duradel is usually north of the river (or sometimes on the bridge), he cannot be accessed from north of the river. Instead, enter the fishing shop south of the river, climb the ladder there, and cross the bridge to get to him.

The fastest ways to reach Shilo Village are to use:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Duradel grants:

  • 15 Slayer points per normal task
  • 75 for every 10th
  • 225 for every 50th
  • 375 for every 100th
  • 525 for every 250th
  • 750 for every 1,000th

Mortimer

Mortimer is the hardest Slayer Master. To be assigned tasks from Mortimer, players must have a Slayer level of at least 70, and a combat level of at least 100. Also, to be able to enter Wyrmscraig Cavern, where Mortimer resides, players must have partially completed the Fallen From Grace quest.

Unlike other Slayer Masters, Mortimer offers a choice of tasks, with 2 offered initially, increasing to 3 after 50 tasks completed from him. His tasks exclusively focus on monsters with superior variants available.

Each task also has a modifier, with more possible modifiers unlocked after certain thresholds of tasks completed from him. The magnitude of a modifier varies depending on the monster assigned.

The following modifiers are available:

  • Available after 0 tasks: Task awards Slayer Points on completion.
  • Available after 0 tasks: Task quantity modified. Lower level monsters are reduced, and higher level monsters are increased.
  • Available after 15 tasks: Clue scroll drop rates are increased.
  • Available after 25 tasks: Superior slayer creatures access the superior unique drop table more often.
  • Available after 40 tasks: Slayer creatures award more Slayer experience.

Blocking a task with this master costs 120 Slayer points. Additionally, only 2 block slots are available, skips cost more (100 points), and tasks cannot be skipped by using Turael.

Resultingly, Mortimer offers an alternative approach to popular Slayer methods that involve a heavy focus on skipping undesirable tasks; instead encouraging completion of less desirable tasks, in exchange for the bonuses provided by modifiers and his task list's focus on superior slayer monsters.

Mortimer is located next to Wyrmscraig Cavern's mooring point. The fastest ways to reach Mortimer are:

Slayer points

Completion of a task assigned by Mortimer will not grant any Slayer points, unless a task with the slayer points modifier is chosen.

Points granted by the modifier varies, being between 5 and 40 points, with higher level monsters offering more points. This amount is not increased by milestones, and tasks from him do not contribute towards the task completion counter at other Slayer Masters.

Notes

  • Duradel/Kuradal and Mortimer are the only Slayer Masters with a Slayer level requirement, all other Masters can be utilised at Level 1 Slayer provided that the player has the appropriate Combat Level and meets any other requirements.
  • Players can use the Lunar spell Astral Contact to receive a new task or updates on their current task from any Slayer Master, this is considered the most efficient way of receiving tasks as it does not require the player to travel to the appropriate Master.
  • If a player becomes ineligible to receive their existing Slayer task, they can cancel it for free without losing their streak by speaking to a Slayer Master. Examples include:
    • Turning off unlockable tasks such as Lizardmen or Basilisk.
    • Toggling off the setting for tasks to be given regardless of combat level, for tasks that would not otherwise be assigned at the player's combat level.

Trivia

  • Nearly all Slayer Masters begin their conversations with "'ello" (the exceptions to this are Krystilia, Konar, and Mortimer). According to Mazchna, saying "'ello" is a tradition among Slayer Masters, but the reason why the tradition exists has been lost to time.[2]
