Robert the Strong

Robert the Strong was a famous hero originating from Arkney, who battled against the Dragonkin in the Fourth Age during the Dragonkin Conflicts and forced them into hiding.

He is significantly taller than an ordinary human and appears to be wearing armour resembling rock-shell armour, and wields a unique bow which resembles an ogre bow.

During a cutscene, Robert is seen slaying one of the Dragonkin in their castle after it kills his pet panther, Odysseus. The quest also reveals that Bob the Cat is the reincarnation of Robert the Strong.

Robert makes a minor appearance in a cutscene near the end of While Guthix Sleeps. After the player touches the Stone of Jas, they see a vision depicting of themselves in the past somehow discussing the stone with Robert, who remarked that the only way to win against the Dragonkin would be to use their curse against them.

During Dragon Slayer II, the player is tasked with defeating Robert after entering Bob the Cat's mind. Robert's damage is only partially reduced by Protect from Missiles. Crush attacks work the best, as his crush defence is the lowest. Whenever Robert shouts See if you can hide from this!, the player should hide behind one of the four pillars in the boss area to avoid his special attack.

If players die during this fight, they can reclaim their items from the Item Chest near the brazier. You can teleport from his area like normal, so an emergency teleport is suggested.

He is then seen without his helmet during a cutscene. Here, it is revealed what Robert did with the dragon key pieces the player is required to find.

• Robert the Strong's Strong Arrow special attack is similar to Nomad's Soul Blast during Nomad's Requiem in RuneScape 3.
• Robert the Strong possibly shares his name with a historical figure named Robert the Strong, who was the father of two kings of West Francia, those being Odo and Robert I of France before passing in 866 AD. More likely however, he shares his name with Robert the Bruce, a national hero of Scotland who during the First War of Scottish Independence against England, fought successfully during his reign to regain Scotland's place as an independent kingdom.
