The Guardian of Armadyl is a messenger who delivers an Armadyl communiqué to players who are eligible to start the quest While Guthix Sleeps.
Though players can wait until he appears to deliver the communiqué, reading the communiqué is not itself a requirement to start the quest. Players are able to speak to Ivy Sophista regardless, with the quest's dialogue being altered slightly to account for not doing so. The Guardian of Armadyl does not appear in some areas, such as Port Roberts.
