Thaerisk Cemphier is a druid and leader of the Crux Eqal organisation residing in Taverley. As a member of the Crux Eqal they are aligned to Guthix and committed to safeguard the world from imbalance.

Before starting While Guthix Sleeps, he can be found on the 1^st floor of the building that houses the crystal chest. Early into the quest, he moves to White Knights' Castle with the rest of the Crux Eqal.

Thaerisk Cemphier lived in Taverley most of his life and was initiated as a druid ten years before the events of While Guthix Sleeps. He travelled around most of Gielinor and seen "tragedy and heartache, triumph and beauty". He also felt that many of his fellow druids are a bit too absorbed in local matters and should look at the larger picture, and thus organised Crux Eqal.

During the While Guthix Sleeps quest, Thaerisk recruits the adventurer after learning of Mahjarrat Lucien's intentions of attaining godhood and thwarting world balance. Thaerisk and the adventurer are briefly attacked by assasins hired by Lucien, with Thaerisk using Earth Blast spells to fend off the assassins. Thaerisk moves to the White Knights' Castle after forming an alliance with the Guardians of Armadyl and the Temple Knights. Thaerisk, along with the rest of the alliance's leaders, are dismayed that the Stone of Jas has been stolen by Lucien despite the efforts put in by the adventurer and the alliance. He lets the adventurer know that he will inform them when they know the whereabouts of Lucien.
