Dragonfruit tree seeds are the highest level fruit tree patch seeds. At 81 Farming, a dragonfruit tree seed can be planted in a plant pot to make a dragonfruit seedling, which grows into a dragonfruit sapling; the sapling can be planted in a fruit tree patch to be grown into a dragonfruit tree. Dragonfruit trees, when fully grown, bear dragonfruit.

Planting a dragonfruit sapling in a fruit tree patch gives 140 Farming experience, and checking the tree's health gives 17,335 Farming experience, and harvesting the six dragonfruit gives 420 Farming experience total. This comes out to 17,895 total experience per seed, or more if the player comes back when the fruits have regrown.

Dragonfruit trees, like all fruit trees, ideally take six 160-minute farming cycles to fully grow, but certain factors can delay this. Dragonfruit trees are usually fully grown within 24 hours, however.

Dragonfruit tree seeds may be found rarely in a bird nest, which can be obtained randomly while Woodcutting, emptying Birdhouses or from Managing Miscellania. They can also be obtained via farming contracts from the Farming Guild, as loot from opening the brimstone chest, Larran's small or big chest or as rare drops from the Hespori, alchemical hydra, demonic gorillas, lizardman shamans, and Vorkath.

One seed can be used on the skilling pet Tangleroot to change its appearance.
