Wyrms are draconic creatures requiring level 62 Slayer to kill, found in the lower level of the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon in Mount Karuulm as well as in the Wyrmscraig Cavern after partial completion of Fallen From Grace. Players can travel to Mount Karuulm quickly by using the fairy ring CIR located south of the mountain. Players can also directly teleport to Mount Karuulm with Rada's blessing 3 or 4. Wyrms located in Wyrmscraig Cavern can be accessed easily using a Slayer ring teleport. When fighting the wyrms located in the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon players must wear the boots of stone, boots of brimstone, or granite boots to protect themselves from the extreme heat of the dungeon floor. Players who have completed the Elite Kourend & Kebos Diary do not need to wear this footwear to avoid being rapidly burned.
Killing a wyrm is required for the Hard Kourend & Kebos Diary and is an Easy Combat Achievement.
Wyrms were an ancient race of dragons, said to be capable of destroying cities and armies on their own. They slowly disappeared due to their heavy involvement in the God Wars. The current wyrms in the dungeon are an attempted recreation of the powerful wyrms of old by a Dragonkin named Karuulm.
Wyrms do not require any form of dragonfire protection. When encountered, they will be slithering on the ground. However, once attacked, they will levitate off the ground and attack the player. They can still be hit with melee. Wyrms attack with both Melee and Magic; however, if attacked from a distance, they will only use their magic attack. This makes the Ranged attack style while using a form of magic protection, such as Protect from Magic, or armour with high magic defence bonuses like dragonhide, a viable method for killing wyrms.
They are the only monsters to drop the dragon sword and dragon harpoon.
Wyrms are vulnerable to the effects of dragonbane weapons, which include the dragon hunter lance, dragon hunter crossbow, and dragon hunter wand. In the Karuulm Slayer Dungeon, a dwarf multicannon cannot be set up, as the message "The electricity here is too powerful for you to set up a cannon here" will appear; however, it can be used in the Wyrmscraig Cavern. They are also immune to both venom and poison. When leaving their idle stance, they will clear any burn effects.
Players may kill wyrmlings or lava strykewyrms in place of normal wyrms for their Slayer task. These have additional requirements; the former require starting Perilous Moons for access to Neypotzli and the latter requires 60 Sailing[nb] for access to Charred Island. Alternatively both can be accessed with 62 Sailing[nb] in Wyrmscraig and Wyrmscraig Cavern respectively.

Safespotting
If the player is on a Slayer task, any idle wyrms on the eastern alcove of the second island can be attacked and then lured to the corner to trap them, allowing players to range them at a specific spot while staying out of their magic attack range of 6 squares. Wyrms will return to their idle state after being unable to retaliate for several hits, and may walk out of the safespot area in the process. This can cause the player to run after the wyrm and start taking damage. For this reason, it is recommended to pay some attention even while using this method. A player can ensure more idle time by attacking with a weapon that has an attack speed of 5 ticks (e.g., magic longbow or rune crossbow in with their attack style set to rapid). If timed correctly, the attack will hit the wyrm as soon as its "re-idling" animation ends, preventing it from moving away and undoing the safespot.
Furthermore, if the wyrm manages to move away and enter the platform's northern "corridor", the player can avoid having to reposition it by setting up a safespot along the second island's north-western edge, 6 squares from the corner.
To set up this safespot, attack a wyrm when it is in the eastern alcove and run to the shown tile. The more north and east the wyrm is, the higher the chance of instant success. You may have to run to the back of the northern alcove to lure the wyrm's character box past the western wall of the northern alcove if the wyrm doesn't automatically get stuck on said western wall. Note that the shadow wyrm cannot be safespotted.
Drops
Drop rates are estimated based on 847,282 samples from the Drop Rate Project, unless otherwise cited.
The average wyrm kill, including wyrm bones and its unique drops, is worth either 5,366.00 when you are not on a wyrm Slayer task, or 6,373.00 when you are on a wyrm Slayer task.
The average wyrm kill while on a Konar task is worth 7,452.00.

Trivia
- Wyrms, from the Old English word meaning "serpent", are legendary dragons in European mythology. Unlike the wyrm's in-game model, wyrms were described as legless in early Germanic sagas.
- Being a wingless, four-legged draconic creature, the wyrm resembles depictions of the Lung or Chinese dragon
- According to Juna, wyrms took part in the God Wars, and the strength of dragons pale in comparison. It is unknown who the wyrms served in the war.
