The rune javelin is a type of members ranged ammunition used by ballistae. They are the third strongest type of javelin, surpassed only by the amethyst javelin and dragon javelin. As with most javelins, they can be poisoned.

They can be fletched by attaching rune javelin tips to javelin shafts at level 77 Fletching, granting 187.5 experience per 15 javelins made. They can also be obtained by buying them from the Ranging Guild, the Void Knight Archery Store or from Oobapohk's Javelin Store after Monkey Madness II.

The Ranged Strength bonus of rune javelins has been decreased from +145 to +124.[1]

  • Rune javelins are no longer equipable in the Weapon slot, now being equipable in the Ammunition slot as ammo for ballistae.
  • The Ranged Attack bonus has been removed; previously, it was +38.
  • The Ranged Strength bonus has increased from +42 to +145.

  • The extra strong poisoned variant was renamed from "Rune javelin(+)" to "Rune javelin(p+)".
  • The super strong poisoned variant was renamed from "Rune javelin(s)" to "Rune javelin(p++)".
