Bloodvelds are demons known for attacking victims with their long tongues, which have magical properties allowing them to pierce through physical defences.[1] They are Slayer monsters requiring level 50 Slayer to kill.
While assigned a bloodveld Slayer task, players with the Bigger and Badder perk unlocked have a 1 in 200 chance for an insatiable bloodveld to appear after each kill. This effect only applies to bloodvelds located outside of the God Wars Dungeon and its Wilderness variant.
As demons, bloodvelds are susceptible to demonbane weaponry.

Strategy
Bloodvelds are among the few monsters that use magic-based melee attacks. Although their attacks are classified as melee, the player's magic defence—not melee defence—determines the accuracy of bloodveld attacks. Therefore, it is recommended when killing bloodvelds to equip armour with strong magic defence, such as dragonhide, as bloodvelds are relatively accurate. Players using Prayer should use Protect from Melee to nullify damage.
In the Slayer Tower, bloodvelds can be safespotted in the centre room either in the north-eastern corner behind the chair or next to the armour stands and wardrobes around the walls. On the task-only basement floor, a safespot exists in the north-west corner between the chest, chair, broken table, and shelves. Bringing nature runes for alchemy spells is recommended, as bloodvelds frequently drop fire runes and items with good high alchemy value. An additional safespot is found in the corner between the torch and the armour set.
In the Stronghold Slayer Cave, bloodvelds can be safespotted while using a dwarf multicannon in the north-east section of their area, though this spot is often crowded. An additional safespot in the Stronghold Slayer Cave is located in the east room, north of some rocks and east of a pillar.
In the God Wars Dungeon, bloodvelds can be safespotted behind piles of bricks directly north-east of the exit rope, though a player should equip both a Saradomin and Zamorak item when using this safespot. Another option exists further to the north-east, behind the rock formations on the coast. Once inside, this spot requires only a Zamorak item.
In the Wilderness God Wars Dungeon, with both a Saradomin and Zamorak item equipped, rocks can be used to safespot bloodvelds.

- Bloodvelds have a similar drop table to that of lesser demons.
- Bloodvelds had a festive override wearing a Santa hat during the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Christmas event.
- All bloodvelds have some requirement to kill them. The ones in the God Wars Dungeon require 60 Strength or Agility, the ones in the Stronghold Slayer Cave require a Slayer task, and the ones in Morytania require Priest in Peril. However, mutated bloodvelds can be killed without a requirement.
