Lesser demons are the second weakest standard demon, above the imp. They are sometimes killed by Free-to-play players, as they are one of the strongest monsters on those servers and can drop the desirable rune med helm. Lesser demons have a somewhat low Defence, which can make them a good source of combat experience. They are susceptible to the effects of demonbane weapons.

The Chasm of Fire is one of the best locations for slaying lesser demons. The fairy ring (DJR) is very close, and a Dwarf Multicannon can be used to speed up the task; players can also safespot in this location. Although combat experience per hour can be above average, lesser demons' sparse drops make them a below average Slayer task.

A unique Lesser demon can be found in the basement of Melzar's Maze, and is fought during the Dragon Slayer I quest. Unique variants of lesser demons as well as Scarred lesser demons can be found in The Scar.

Trivia

The first demon to die after an update.

On 29 August 2006, lesser demons were graphically updated, giving them a more distinguished look. Several graphical variants of lesser demons were added with this update, including making the one in Melzar's Maze slightly taller than normal and giving him an extended green tongue.
During the Grid Master event, the first lesser demon that is killed on the top floor of the Wizards' Tower would say Swarm the tower, my brethren when it died, causing several lesser demons to spawn across all floors of the tower. These demons instantly respawned at the place of dying when killed.
