The muddy chest is a locked chest located in the centre of Lava Maze. It can only be opened with a muddy key, consuming one key each time the chest is opened. A slash weapon is necessary to cut through the web that allows access to the maze centre (Aranea boots may also be used), or 82 Agility to use the stepping stone shortcut north of the fenced area.
Opening the chest is a task in the Medium Wilderness Diary.
Players attempting to loot this chest should beware of player killers as it is in level 43 Wilderness. If attacked by a PKer, the closest escape routes are descending into the Lava Maze Dungeon or using the stepping stone shortcut. Additionally, lesser demons reside near the chest.

Blighted supplies and Larran's keys have been added as possible loot from opening the muddy chest, while the mithril dagger, anchovy pizza, and coins were removed from the loot table. The number of mithril bars was increased to 2 and they are now noted. The numbers of looted runes were also increased. |
