Chests can be found in various locations, yielding 5 steel arrowtips and 20 coins when picked. They require 47 Thieving and a lockpick. Players must right click the chests and 'Search for traps' to open them, and upon doing so the player receives 150 experience. Alternatively, players can use a lockpick on the chest to attempt to unlock it. Once opened, these chests remain looted for 90 seconds before re-locking themselves.

Trivia
- Because all versions of the chest share the same object ID, and the game does not currently have a check for the chest's location, players can complete the Kandarin medium task that requires you "steal from the [arrowtip] chest in Hemenster (between the range and anvil)" by stealing from either of the other two chests.[1]
