The Wilderness Slayer Cave is a cave located beneath the Wilderness. The chambers contain a diverse selection of monsters, located between level 17 to 32 Wilderness. All of the monsters in this cave are commonly assigned by Krystilia as well as other Slayer masters, although the full task list is extensive and most are not found in the cave. Often, monsters in the cave are stronger than their other Wilderness counterparts, and their drop tables are significantly improved. Loot from monsters includes a variety of items from Justine's shop, such as Trouver parchments and Blighted items. While on a Wilderness Slayer task they also have a 15% increased drop rate of Larran's key.[1]

The area is desirable to players wishing to quickly complete slayer tasks, as it's possible to use the Dwarf multicannon inside the dungeon. The cave is the only multi-combat spot where the cannon can be used for some monsters. Additionally, as the monsters drop better loot in the cave than in the overworld, it is a popular slayer location despite the added risk; many players use the cave to complete tasks for Krystilia but also for Slayer masters in general. It's usually profitable enough in the cave to justify the cost of deaths (providing the player doesn't risk too much and die too often).

The ability to use Wilderness weapons and Slayer helmet(i)[a] means the player has the potential for substantially boosted damage and therefore players can enjoy high experience rates in the cave. Ancients such as the Ice Barrage and Ice Burst spells are effective in this dungeon; many of the slayer tasks are best killed with Ancients in multi-combat. As it's the Wilderness, Blighted ancient ice sack and Blighted super restore are usable here and are dropped by the monsters, allowing for cheaper tasks and training.

There are agility shortcuts connecting the Abyssal demons, Lesser demons, and Greater Nechryael, and shortcuts connecting the Dust devils, Jellies, and Hellhounds. These all require 77 Agility[b] and are useful for players wishing to escape a player killer.

Abyssal demons, Nechryaels, Dust devils, and Jellies can only be killed while on Slayer task.[2] If a player attempts to kill these monsters while not on the corresponding task, they will be stopped by Peeve.

Transportation

Entrances to the Wilderness Slayer Cave

Teleports near the cave's entrances

  • Games necklace offers a teleport to the Corporeal Beast — players can then run east to the level 18 entrance. This is usually the most convenient location for the southern entrance, as the Corporeal Beast cave is not classed as the Wilderness despite leading directly to it giving the player added security.
  • Teleporting to Ferox Enclave and running east to the level 18 entrance. This is preferred by many players, as here they are able to bank and it is not a PvP area. It's also possible to restore health, prayer, and run energy here with the Pool of Refreshment. Be aware of others players, you may be more likely to be scouted if running from the Ferox Enclave.
  • Teleporting to the Wilderness obelisk in level 19 wilderness by using an obelisk built in a player's Superior garden and running east to the level 18 entrance. This is more dangerous as it takes the player directly into the wilderness rather than a safe location.
  • Using either the Carrallanger teleport or Carrallanger teleport tablet, leading to the Graveyard of Shadows and again running east to the level 18 entrance.
  • Breaking a Wilderness crabs teleport tablet and running west to the level 29 entrance — This is not recommended not only due to the high cost of this teleport, but also because it teleports the player to level 33 Wilderness. This means it inherently carries more risk as the player cannot instantly teleport out if a PKer is in the area.
  • Hunter cape has a teleport to Black chinchompa (Hunter), from here players can run east to arrive at the north entrance. This teleport takes the player to level 32 Wilderness in an active area, so again is not recommended.
  • Using a burning amulet to Chaos Temple and running north to the level 18 entrance.

  2. ^ Boostable — Summer pies can be incredibly useful if the player is 72-76 Agility as they provide a +5 boost to agility.
