The Clock Tower dungeon is a major part of the Clock Tower quest. It is a huge, multi-zone dungeon complex underneath the south-western part of East Ardougne. It is where you find the four cogs that are needed in the Clock Tower quest. Players must start the quest before they can access most of the dungeon.

Dungeon

The dungeon is divided into three zones. The zones look interconnected on the map, and even in the dungeon itself you can occasionally see from one zone into another through walls of iron bars. The zones, however, are completely separate. To pass between zones, the player must exit the dungeon and travel on the surface world to the entrance of the next zone.

Despite its large size, the dungeon is rarely used except for players on the Clock Tower and Monk's Friend quests. It contains no special monsters or treasure worth collecting.

Clock Tower basement

This is the primary part of the dungeon where most of the Clock Tower quest takes place. Inside the Clock Tower building is a ladder which leads to the basement. It contains a small central compartment holding the inoperative clock mechanism with four coloured spindles (black, red, blue, white) projecting from it. During the Clock Tower quest, you repair the mechanism by finding four correspondingly-coloured cogs and placing them on the spindles.

To the north-east of the ladder is the tile room. Four coloured tiles are inset on the floor in the centre of the room. These provide hints as to which doors in the room lead toward which cog. You cannot actually get the blue cog by using the door indicated by the blue tile: you can see the cog if you follow the corridor, but it is actually in a separate area.

Prison cells

Taking the south-west exit of the tile room leads to the prison cells. There are five prison cells here, with six ladders to the surface. You cannot enter any of the cells from the corridor. Two cells each contain one level 2 goblin and two more each have one level 28 Hobgoblin. The fifth cell has a level 12 Dungeon rat and the blue cog.

You can access one ladder from the corridor. Climbing it exits the dungeon just south of the Clock Tower. There are five ladder openings and one trapdoor on the surface. One ladder returns to the dungeon corridor, and the other four go to the goblin and hobgoblin cells. The trapdoor is over the room with blue cog, but you cannot open the trapdoor from the surface.

Dungeon rats

Taking the north-west exit of the tile room is the dungeon rat pen. This area must be unlocked by pulling the two levers outside. In the Clock Tower quest, the player must poison them to be able to get the white cog.

Next to the white cog is a ladder to the surface. If you climb the ladder, you exit the dungeon through a trapdoor north-east of the Clock Tower. You cannot open the trapdoor from surface, so the ladder is a one-way exit.

Spiders

Taking the north-east exit of the tile room leads to an area with doors and crumbling walls. At the end of the area is a room containing giant spiders as well as the black cog, which is located amongst walls of fire. Ice gloves or a bucket of water is required to pick it up

Ogres

Taking the south-east exit of the tile room leads to a room with three ogres and the red cog.

Long passageway

This area is accessed from ladder just south of the Ardougne Zoo, near the camel cage. This area consists of a long tunnel in the east part of the dungeon containing a few goblins, which leads to fake wall which can be pushed to access the prison cell containing the blue cog and a dungeon rat. The main part of the dungeon cannot be accessed from this area.

The cell also contains a ladder to the surface. If you climb the ladder, you exit the dungeon through a trapdoor south of the Clock Tower. You cannot open the trapdoor from surface, so the ladder is a one-way exit.

Thieves' hideout

This part of the dungeon is accessed during the Monk's Friend quest, as it contains the child's blanket which the player must reclaim from the thieves found in the hideout. It is located in the south-western part of the dungeon, but the rest of the dungeon cannot be accessed from it as a metal gate blocks the way.

The area is accessed from a ladder on the surface in the centre of a ring of stones. However, the ladder is visible only if you are standing inside the stone ring. Elsewhere, it is invisible (although the minimap shows its position).
