The Bandit Camp is an outlaw stronghold located within levels 17 to 24 Wilderness. It is most often visited for Treasure Trails and the Curse of the Empty Lord miniquest, as well as to kill bandits for a Krystilia Slayer task and to sell items to the general store.

The camp can only be entered from either the south or the east, as it is surrounded by walls. The south entrance is guarded by level 22 and level 130 bandits. To enter, the player must walk from levels 17 to 19 Wilderness along a narrow pathway with lava on either side, or go through the safer way, from the east where there is a break in the wall. This entrance is guarded by two giant rats, and one of them is of the aggressive level 6 variety.

Transportation

Features

The Bandit Duty Free general store is run here by Noterazzo. His store buys at higher and sells at lower prices than others, as the area is so dangerous that tax collectors do not visit him.[1]

Neil sells Wilderness team capes ending in the number 7. He is located in (or near) the remains of the building next to the Bandit Duty Free General Store.

In the northernmost section, there is also a pizza base shop, run by Fat Tony, which sells only pizza bases. Tomato and cheese both respawn on the table next to the stove where pizzas can be created.

Anchovy pizzas can be cooked using a small fishing net to the east of the pizza shop while meat pizzas can be cooked using the meat from the rats on the eastern entrance to the camp. Standard pizzas can be cooked inside the pizza shop at only the cost of the pizza bases.

History

Little information regarding the history of this camp is known. Three named bandits - Black Heather, Speedy Keith, and Donny the lad - can be found within the camp, possibly being the leaders of the bandits. They all wear capes and wield steel scimitars, in contrast to the regular bandit weapon, the longsword.

The camp is used as a hideout not only by bandits, but by those who are on the run from the law. Fat Tony was accused of giving the king food poisoning, and had to flee Misthalin, receiving refuge at the camp in exchange for cooking for the bandits.[2]

Most of the camp seems to have been destroyed; many of the buildings are falling apart. It may be the remains of a fortified city destroyed during the God Wars (possibly part of the nearby ruins of Dareeyak), as many other ruins located in the Wilderness are; the bandits may have found and populated its ruins.
