A jug of wine is a type of drink that restores 11 Hitpoints and temporarily lowers Attack by 2, leaving behind an empty jug after consumption. It can be obtained by using grapes with a jug of water, requiring level 35 Cooking. The process of fermenting takes 12 seconds, but if another jug of wine is created within this time period, the 12 seconds restart. When the process is finished, all unfermented wine in the player's inventory or bank will ferment. Each jug of wine grants 200 Cooking experience, but every jug that fails to ferment becomes a jug of bad wine instead. The fail rate decreases as the player's Cooking level increases, and it will stop failing entirely at Cooking level 68.
The Culinaromancer's Chest sells both jugs and grapes and has a nearby sink for filling the jug, making it an ideal location for creating jugs of wine. They may also be purchased, with the closest shop to a bank being Sunlight's Sanctum in Aldarin which offers an unlimited supply. Furthermore, there is a bank deposit box outside this bank, closer to Sunlight's Sanctum than the bankers.
Wine is notable for its affordability and accessibility which makes it a popular low cost food, especially for activities that do not excessively utilise run energy as it is notably heavy. Making wines is also a cheap and effective method of training Cooking; for more details, see here.
The chance for an unfermented wine to successfully turn into a jug of wine is about 60% at level 35, increasing to a 100% chance at level 68.[1] Note that while mixing large quantities of wine at the same time, rolls are not made for each jug of wine individually. Rather, the total amount of unfermented wines is divided into 15 batches, with a skilling success roll being performed for each of them, in addition to the unfermented wines left over from the division.[2] Any potential levels gained from successfully processing earlier batches are not taken into account for the success rate of ensuing batches.[3]

By creating 60,000 jugs of wine in succession before letting them ferment, players can obtain a 12,000,000 experience drop, the largest available in the game.

A stack of wines is divided into batches, rather than rolling for each one individually, which means that the outcomes often won't represent the real chance as accurately as one might expect."
