Slayer's respite is a type of ale that restores 1 Hitpoint and temporarily boosts Slayer by 2 while draining Attack and Strength by 2% + 2. It can be obtained through brewing at level 59 Cooking, granting 479 experience. It is brewed using 2 buckets of water, 2 barley malt, 4 wildblood hops, and a pot of ale yeast. The stronger, mature version of the ale is the Slayer's respite(m).
The boosted Slayer level can be used to attack various Slayer monsters that the player may not currently be able to, such as fighting Spiritual mages a couple levels early to obtain dragon boots. This can also be used to fight certain Slayer bosses on generic monster tasks early, such as Cerberus (hellhound task) or Araxxor (spiders task). Wild pies are generally more useful for this however, as they will grant a +5 boost to Slayer, and not drain any combat stats.
