Calvar'ion is a weaker variant of Vet'ion who is fought in the Skeletal Tomb, a singles-plus combat area in level 21 Wilderness. To enter Calvar'ion's lair, players must have completed the hard Wilderness diary, OR they must have a Vet'ion boss Slayer task (a skeleton Slayer task does not bypass the diary requirement).
Compared to Vet'ion, the fight is quicker and safer at the cost of an overall lower loot value.
Killing Calvar'ion counts as a Vet'ion alternative for a slayer Boss task, the elite Wilderness diary task, and the combat achievements.
Upon any player entering the tomb, all players inside will be unable to teleport for 3 ticks. This delay no longer occurs after completion of the hard Wilderness diary.
Fight overview
Calvar'ion is resistant to any combat style other than crush, and as he is undead, he is susceptible to the Salve amulet and its enhanced version.
Calvar'ion primarily attacks with targeted magic, launching lightning strikes that damage in a 3x3 radius around the arena upon attacking. While he appears to swing his sword during these animations, they do not deal any melee damage, and protection prayers are ineffective against the lightning. Indirect hits will deal less damage than a direct hit. Occasionally, he may prepare for a shield bash if players are near him, indicated by shadows targeting an area in front of him. Players caught in the targeted area, (or standing underneath him), when he bashes his shield will take damage and be rendered unable to attack for a few seconds.
Calvar'ion is fought similarly to the Kalphite Queen in that he has two forms, a "normal" and "enraged" form. When he reaches half health in his first form for the first time, he summons two level 115 skeleton hellhounds that attack with powerful melee, and must be killed as they grant him complete damage immunity while alive. Upon being forced into his next stage, Calvar'ion will become enraged and unleash a blast of energy around him, working the same as the targeted magic attack. In this form, he will attack faster (5t attack speed), his attacks will deal more damage, and any drained Defence levels will be restored. Upon reaching half health in this form, he summons two level 139 greater skeleton hellhounds that are even stronger (although still sharing the same health) and must also be killed.
Like the Kalphite Queen, if players don't kill his second form within 5 minutes, he'll revert to his normal state.

Drops
Drop rates are estimated based on 883,084 samples from the Drop Rate Project, unless otherwise cited.
The average Calvar'ion kill is worth 44,411.66.
The average Calvar'ion kill while on a Konar task is worth 45,671.3.
The average Calvar'ion kill while on a Krystilia task is worth 46,326.88.
When on a Wilderness slayer task for skeletons or hellhounds, the skeleton hellhounds each have a chance to drop a Larran's key. As there are four hellhounds per fight, this increases the expected profit per kill by 5,384.14.
