Brutus is a low-level free-to-play boss located in the Lumbridge cow field, whom players defeat as part of the quest The Ides of Milk, and can be fought after completion of the quest as a boss encounter. During the quest, he cannot kill the player with standard attacks (though his charge and stomp attacks can still kill) and does not drop anything.

The boss is designed to be accessible for low-level players. Unlike Scurrius, which requires some investment before fighting him, Brutus can be reasonably fought almost immediately after starting the game and teaches players a few aspects of bossing, such as dodging telegraphed attacks.

Brutus is an excellent source for beginner clue scrolls, especially for higher level players who can kill the boss quickly. He also drops easy clue scrolls at a lower rate.

Upon completion of Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire, a stronger version of Brutus, known as Demonic Brutus, can be fought by feeding him an abyssal potato; one potato permits only one attempt, but these are readily available from the growth found in the Scar.

Aside from a basic melee attack that can be negated through the use of the Protect from Melee prayer, Brutus uses two special attacks, both of which give players a few ticks to move out of the way.

Additionally, Brutus cannot be flinched, but he can be temporarily safespotted on nearby scenery objects (such as plants or with the nearby warning sign or troughs). After a short while of being safespotted, Brutus can either charge towards the player through obstacles or move around them to reach the player.

• The acorn drop is a reference to Mod Acorn who developed the boss alongside Mod Arcane during Game Jam VII.
• Like Cassius and the Ides of Milk quest, Brutus' name is a reference to the Assassination of Julius Caesar, specifically to Marcus Junius Brutus, one of the most prominent and well-known conspirators in the plot.
• Using an item on Brutus prompts the message Brutus doesn't want that. as opposed to the usual Nothing interesting happens.
• Using an empty bucket on Brutus prompts the message You do not want to do that.
