Supercompost is a superior version of compost that is used in the Farming skill to reduce the chance of a farming patch becoming diseased per growth stage by 4/5.^[1] When used on a farming patch, each bucket grants 26 Farming experience.

In addition, it also increases the minimum yield and maximum number of harvests received from allotments, hops and herbs.^[2] The minimum number of herbs per harvest increases to 5 (when compared with compost). This also applies to giant seaweed patches underwater^[3] and Celastrus bark from a fully grown Celastrus seed.^[4]

As a rule of thumb, supercompost should only be used on farming patches that produce a valuable harvest (such as high-level herbs) and/or provide significant experience for each item harvested (such as watermelons). Supercompost does not increase the yield of trees, fruit trees, cactus, or bush patches; therefore, it is not recommended to treat those patches with supercompost if you plan to pay a gardener to watch over them, since there is no benefit other than the extra 26 experience granted.

Players can add two volcanic ash to a bucket of supercompost, add 25 volcanic ash to a compost bin, or add 50 volcanic ash to a big compost bin that contains supercompost, to upgrade it to ultracompost.

Creation

To create supercompost, players must place 15 suitable produce (see list below) into any of the compost bins that are located next to the allotment patches found around Gielinor. Once the bin is full, the lid of the compost bin must be closed to allow the contents to rot. This process takes approximately 90 minutes until completion, after which the player may open the compost bin and extract all of the supercompost by clicking on the bin or using buckets on it. Each bucket of supercompost collected grants the player 8.5 Farming experience.

Players may also use a compost potion to create supercompost. One dose of compost potion will change an entire finished bin of compost into supercompost, or one bucket of compost that has already been collected.

Supercompost can also be created by using 3 saltpetre with one bucket of compost.

Supercompost can be purchased with reward points from the Tithe Farm minigame, for 5 points each.

The Lunar spell Fertile Soil can be used on a patch to apply the effect of supercompost to it without using any supercompost.
