A letvek in a bucket can appear in the player's inventory while collecting sap from the engorged bloodwood tree (it does not replace the sap that would have been gained). It can be gently shooed away by clicking the bucket; until this is done, the player can no longer chop the tree.

Despite the chatbox message warning that players should get rid of the letvek in the bucket before it drinks their sap, the letvek will not drink any bucket of bloodwood sap that is present in the inventory; however, players can use one on the letvek in the bucket to feed it, satiating its hunger and sending it scurrying away.
