Sotfa Forest

The Sotfa Forest is a forest on Vampyrium, found east of Sangvesti. It features heavily in The Blood Moon Rises quest. After the quest, only the western portion can be accessed, which contains sanguidae, impaler deer, blood serpents, ticks, and ancient feral vyres. The odd trees in the area may damage the player. Skilling activities related to bloodwood trees, leechfin fishing, stymphike hunting and the Maggot King boss are found across the forest.

The Sotfa Forest was inhabited by primitive, cave-dwelling vampyres prior to the arrival of Zaros. Various activities and the arrival of Zaros are depicted in cave paintings left millennia ago.

• Initially, Jagex has used the spelling "Softa". That happened both in The Blood Moon Rises quest teaser^[1], released in the Winter Summit 2026, where the existence of "Softa leeches" was teased. Both the "Known Bugs and Issues" ^[2] and the "The Blood Moon Rises Tweaks & Fixes" ^[3] blogs also had this spelling for a while. Eventually Mod Rach has acknowledged the spelling Sotfa is official^[4] and both blogs were amended.
