Sugadinti Vitur is an ancient and powerful vampyre, the former head of House Vitur, and the father of Verzik Vitur. Unlike the vampyres who submitted to House Drakan, he opposed Lowerniel Drakan and survived in hiding on Vampyrium until the events of The Blood Moon Rises.
History
Sugadinti was once the ruler of House Vitur, one of the vampyre houses of Vampyrium. A capable fighter, Sugadinti slew the Ghrazi warlord who originally held the Ghrazi rapier at some point in the past.[1] Unlike many vampyres who submitted to House Drakan, Sugadinti opposed Lowerniel Drakan and his attempts to unite House Drakan with House Vitur. Sugadinti's daughter, Verzik Vitur, conspired with Lowerniel, ultimately resulting in Verzik nearly killing her father, leaving him for dead on Vampyrium, and usurping him as the head of House Vitur.[2]
While in hiding on Vampyrium, he discovered the aranei, and protected them from the land's dangers. Grateful for his help, the aranei vowed to serve Sugadinti in whatever way they could.[3] He also found Queen Efaritay Hallow after she managed to escape Drakan's prison. While initially distrusting of Sugadinti at first, the two eventually allied with each other due to their shared objective of overthrowing Drakan.[4] Their plan was to stay on Vampyrium and gather enough allies in Morytania who would be willing to fight Lowerniel,[5] which they would do by sending aranei from Vampyrium to Gielinor to act as recruiters and spies,[6] as well as to collect hallowed marks to repurpose their pure silvthrill as weaponry against the vampyres.[7] Once enough allies were gathered and weapons were made, Sugadinti and Efaritay would have entered Gielinor and fought Drakan.[8] Efaritay personally requested that the aranei on Gielinor keep an eye on the Myreque.[9]
As Verzik ruled over the Theatre of Blood, Sugadinti took an interest in the Theatre. One of the aranei sent to spy on Verzik, Sarei, found out that Verzik now possessed the ability to turn herself into a form resembling a nylocas.[10] Sarei found the adventurer who killed Ranis Drakan, and tasked them with finding objects to view parts of his memory that could explain when and how she gained this power.[11] Eventually, Sarei and the adventurer ended up completing the Theatre to extract a memory from Verzik herself, where the two would find out that Verzik had been killed and replaced by the Nylocas Queen, an outcome that Sugadinti found pleasing after her betrayal.[12] Through Sarei, Sugadinti thanked the adventurer for their assistance, instructing them to not do anything about the Nylocas Queen until the time was right to do so. Ultimately, this investigation allowed Sugadinti to create a toxin that is deadly to the nylocas.[13]
The adventurer later met Sugadinti in person on Vampyrium during The Blood Moon Rises. As the arrival of the Myreque on Vampyrium disrupted Sugadinti's original plan, he attempted to have everyone leave Vampyrium, which would trap Lowerniel and Vanescula Drakan on Vampyrium as they would not have the icyene blood required to create a portal back to Gielinor. However, this plan would not succeed; Lowerniel captured Efaritay again, and Sugadinti would have to make do with only recruiting the Nylocas Queen, which he managed to do by using his toxin as a bargaining chip.
After the adventurer killed Lowerniel, Sugadinti becomes the leader of the vampyres, with many accepting his rule. He declares peace with the humans and outlaws the tithing of Morytania's human population, though this decision is met with disdain by some.[14] Although he is aware that some humans, such as the villagers of Slepe, gave blood willingly, he considers reworking the law in such cases.[15] As a temporary solution to the resulting blood crisis, he has the aranei donate their blood and begins studying the creation of artificial blood via haemalchemy as a permanent solution.[16] He additionally keeps a portal open to Vampyrium with the assistance of Efaritay Hallow and some Aranei to continue studying and researching Vampyrium's flora and fauna.[17]

Trivia
- "Sugadinti" means "to ruin" (verb) or "ruined" (adjective) in Lithuanian. It also means "suck teeth" in Romanian.
- Verzik named The Maiden of Sugadinti after her father, an act she found humourous, Ranis Drakan found interesting and unexpected, and the Mysterious Stranger found ironic.

It is only thanks to Father Sugadinti that we didn't. [Player: So now you'll die for him?] Of course. We owe everything to him. Every moment... every experience... every memory. We exist because of him, and so we exist for him. He is our future, and if we have to die to protect that future, then we will do so willingly."

I would not have survived these lands for long, but I was lucky enough that Sugadinti found me. [Player: That feels kind of like what happened with us.] Yes, and much like yourselves, I was also highly mistrusting of Sugadinti at first. Had I been stronger, I may well have tried to kill him on the spot. And yet, over time, we have come to reach an understanding. Make no mistake, there is much we do not agree on. However, he is most certainly nothing like Drakan."

- ^ Sarei in The Blood Moon Rises. Old School RuneScape. "Due to our limited presence, we had to prioritise our efforts carefully. Our numbers were too low for direct action, so we were limited to either spying or recruiting locals to assist us."

The smiths of Hallowvale were able to perfect the process of creating the alloy, making it far more powerful than the crude form used in your flail. Unfortunately, the secrets to that process have long been lost, but pure silvthrill can still be found, provided you know where to look. Hallowed marks. The old currency of Hallowvale. When Sugadinti and I first managed to send one of his disciples to my former home, I made sure that gathering these was their first priority."

That said, some have managed to succeed. Of course, the vampyres would never let the citizens know this. Thanks to these successes, I've been able to gather information on Verzik and her abilities. [...] Verzik has abilities unlike any other vampyre. However, she did not always possess these abilities. My associates are keen to discover how she obtained them."
- ^ Mysterious Stranger in A Night at the Theatre. Old School RuneScape. "Ranis and Verzik were close friends. He interacted with her more than anyone else did. Getting close enough to Verzik to observe her own memories will be... problematic. He is the next best option. Within his memories we can hopefully learn more about Verzik and her abilities."

- ^ Sugadinti Vitur in The Blood Moon Rises. Old School RuneScape. "As I said before, my hope is that I can convince this Nylocas Queen to willingly join with us. However, it is very possible she will resist... at least at first. [...] Thanks to your work, I was able to create a toxin that will be quite deadly to her and her children. I suspect it will help with persuading her... if required."
- ^ Sugadinti Vitur. Old School RuneScape. "As promised, the tithing of humans has been completely outlawed. [...] Most are understanding of the fact that regardless of anything else, the days of tithing humans were running short. However, it is true that some found human blood to be more... appetising."
- ^ Sugadinti Vitur. Old School RuneScape. "That said, my understanding is that some humans did willingly provide their blood to the Drakans. It is of course possible that could be explored again in future, albeit with very different arrangements."
- ^ Sugadinti Vitur. Old School RuneScape. "While my disciples are currently providing blood for the vampyres here, I do not consider that a suitable long-term solution. Haemalchemy, I believe, will be the true answer. With us having outlawed the practice of vampyrification, we have started using the labs to explore the creation of artificial blood instead."
- ^ Sugadinti Vitur. Old School RuneScape. "Vampyrium is home to all manner of flora and fauna that cannot be found here. With the threat of Drakan dealt with, my disciples can freely travel to and from there, collecting samples to use in our experiments. You are more than welcome to use the portal yourself, my child. Blood donations from Efaritay and my disciples keep it well powered, and it may be that you'll find Vampyrium to offer something of interest to you."
