The hallowed flail is a one-handed flail created during The Blood Moon Rises. It is constructed using hallowed marks given to the player by Efaritay Hallow, a blisterwood flail, and the blisterwood sickle (e) at an anvil with a hammer in the player's inventory. It is a silver weapon and can deal full damage to vampyres of all tiers. After quest completion, it is sold by Efaritay in Castle Drakan.

This hallowed flail requires an Attack level of 50 to wield, and gives a 25% damage and accuracy bonus against vampyres.^[1] Compared to the blisterwood flail, it changes from a staff (with crush and autocast options) to a flail (with only slash options) and a faster attack speed, as well as some minor changes in attack and defense.

In addition to the flail's unpredictability and the blisterwood already present on it, the hallowed flail has been made more efficient at killing vampyres over its predecessors due to the presence of pure silvthrill and its shortened shaft making it less cumbersome to wield.^[2]

The hallowed flail retains the ability to cast Bloom from the blisterwood flail. This multiplicity of use lets a player kill ghasts, vampyre juvinates, and vyrewatch with a single weapon, making it highly useful for Temple Trekking. It does not count as a Saradomin item in the God Wars Dungeon.

The hallowed flail retains the Ivandis flail's special attack, Retainer, which traps a vampyre juvenile or juvinate that has less than 50% hitpoints remaining, preventing it from retaliating for 30 seconds. This consumes 10% of the player's special attack energy.

Even if the attack fails to activate, stating either This spell can only be used on vampyre juveniles or vampyre juvinates. or This spell only works against vampyres with less than half of their health remaining., it will still incur the normal attack delay, so take care not to accidentally use it in those circumstances.

The hallowed flail is the item Falo requires players to show him when he sings about: Vampyres are agile opponents, damaged best with a weapon of many components. Alternatively, a rod of Ivandis, Ivandis flail, or blisterwood flail can be used.

• The hallowed flail inherits the 0.001kg weight of the rod of Ivandis, even though the chain (3.628kg), sickle (1.587kg), and hallowed marks (0.03 kg) used to create it have a combined weight of over 5 kg.
• Unlike the Ivandis and blisterwood flails, which can still be made by the player after completing A Taste of Hope/Sins of the Father respectively, the hallowed flail cannot be made after completion of The Blood Moon Rises.
