The silvthrill ballista is a special two-handed crossbow used during the quest The Blood Moon Rises, when Lowerniel Drakan begins his assault on Sugadinti's hideout in Vampyrium.

The player uses it to destroy the various portals Drakan summons. It can only fire silvthrill javelins, which are also given to the player during this segment of the quest. No experience (ranged or otherwise) is rewarded with use of the ballista. Both the silvthrill ballista and silvthrill javelins are removed from the player's inventory upon completion of the segment.
