The Tonalztics of Ralos is a one-handed thrown weapon that requires level 75 Ranged to equip, obtained by participating in the Fortis Colosseum. Unlike most thrown weapons, it is not stackable and effectively provides unlimited "ammo," though it has an additional effect when charged with Sunfire splinters. The weapon rolls against a monster's light ranged defence.
When charged, the weapon will hit twice, with two independent damage rolls and an attack range of 7 tiles (9 on longrange). Uncharged, the weapon hits a target once for 0-75% of the player's maximum ranged hit, with a slightly worse attack range of 6 tiles (8 on longrange). It can hold a maximum of 20,000 charges. One charge is consumed per throw, whether or not the special attack is used, and regardless of the amount of hits that land. Players can configure the charges while the weapon is in their bank by right-clicking on Configure-Charges, as long as players have the required materials.

Special attack
The Tonalztics of ralos has a special attack, Division, costing 50% special attack energy. Division increases accuracy by 50% and reduces the target's Defence level by 12.5% of the target's Magic level upon a successful hit. This effect occurs for each individual hit, meaning a charged special attack can potentially reduce the target's defence two times (25% of Magic level) with a potential four time reduction if using two specials in a row (50% of Magic level).
This effect makes it uniquely useful for high-defence targets who have an accompanying high-magic level, or for draining the defence of targets who are otherwise unreachable with standard methods (like a dragon warhammer). One example is Zulrah: with its 300 Magic and Defence, Division can potentially drain up to 146 Defence (37.5 rounded down x 4) immediately and greatly increase accuracy for the duration of the fight.
When used on NPCs, the defence reduction from a successful first hit will apply for the calculation of the second hit. However, this is not the case when used in PvP.[1]
The special attack animation differs depending on whether the weapon is charged.

Charging
To unleash the Tonalztics of Ralos' full potential, it must be charged with Sunfire splinters, holding up to 20,000 maximum charges. Each charge requires 1 Sunfire splinter, costing 393 coins per attack. The total cost to fully charge the weapon with 20,000 splinters is 7,860,000 coins. Assuming non-stop use, on the rapid attack style, one attack every 3.6 seconds and 1,000 attacks per hour, the weapon costs 393,000 coins per hour to use.

Trivia
- The weapon was initially proposed as the "Glaive of Ralos" but was changed to its current name after player feedback. The term "glaive" historically refers to a polearmed weapon, and was popularised as a term describing thrown weapons that return to the user after the 1983 film Krull, which features a similarly shaped weapon as its MacGuffin. Indeed, RuneScape 3 also has a similarly named weapon, the shadow glaive, as well as a proper glaive named the Death Lotus Glaive.
- The word "tonalztics" is made up of morphemes from the Nahuatl language. The root "tona-" evokes the warmth of the Sun, as in Tōnatiuh, a deity who carries the Sun across the sky, or tonalli, an animating force and aspect of one's soul that manifests in one way as internal body temperature. Many Nahuatl nouns and adjectives end in "-ztic".
- Unlike most stat-reducing special attack weapons, which can apply their draining effects on an accurate hit that does not deal damage, the Tonalztics of Ralos requires a specific check for damage to be dealt. Targets with attack-type specific damage reduction such as the Great Olm's Left Hand thus requires a minimum hit of 1 damage to apply draining effects. [3]
