The Seven Priestly Warriors were a group of seven Temple Knights, consisting of Ivandis Seergaze, Iriandul Caistlyn, Sarl Dunegun, Derygull Templeton, Erysail the Pious, Friar Twiblick, and Essiandar Gar.
During the Misthalin - Morytania War, the warriors were tasked by Temple Knight leadership with securing the River Salve.[1] Although those who fought with them believed the goal would be achieved through complete annihilation of the vampyres, the real focus was to conduct research and gather materials related to haemalchemy, as the savants believed it would be the key to defeating the vampyres, and some of these missions involved them delving deep into enemy territory.[2][3] Through this, the savants were able to design a blood ritual,[4] though future historians would describe it as a blessing,[5] which would prevent vampyres from being able to cross the River Salve.
In the final battle of the war, the Seven Priestly Warriors performed the ritual around a well at the source of the river, but were attacked by vampyres. Although the ritual was completed, all but one of the Seven Priestly Warriors, Ivandis Seergaze, died in the battle.[6] Ivandis buried the others around the well[7] which the Paterdomus Temple was later built around,[8] and the following day, he began to exhibit symptoms resembling that of vampyrification.[9] Not wanting to make his allies watch him transform into the enemy, he went through the tunnels he previously mapped on a suicide mission to attempt to kill Lowerniel Drakan.[10] He was not successful, and ultimately perished,[11] being buried in a coffin which was placed in a cave connected to the tunnels he mapped beneath Morytania.

"While our conflict with the vampyres focused on this side of Salve, the materials we needed required various scouting missions deep into enemy territory. One of those missions mapped the tunnels found deep beneath Morytania, including one going right under Castle Drakan. And so, my path is clear. I will travel into that dark land one final time. I will use that tunnel to enter Drakan's home. And there, I will finally put an end to him."
