A hammer is a tool used for smithing items on an Anvil, and it is vital to level the Smithing skill. Hammers can be bought from most general stores and will never break. Alternatively, players can obtain a hammer by talking to the Master smithing tutor at the West Varrock anvil. A hammer is also used in the Construction skill when making furniture, and it is required for some minigames. At 15 Construction, members can make a Tool store 1 for the workshop room of their house; this tool store provides an unlimited supply of hammers.
A hammer is required to access Bandos' stronghold in the God Wars Dungeon; warhammers are an acceptable substitute.
The Imcando hammer can be used instead of a hammer when performing tasks like Construction or Smithing.
