The Onyx Crest is an island located south-west of The Great Conch, in the Unquiet Ocean. Docking at the island requires level 47 Sailing. It is a volcanic island, with the forming volcano still fully visible on the west side of the island.

Two fishing spots for lantern harpooning are found on the eastern shore. Multiple Butterfly ray spawns are present near the mooring point.

Small key (the onyx crest) can be dug up on the island, requiring a spade. It is used to obtain the Gale catcher schematic from a chest on Anglers' Retreat.

A medallion fragment can be obtained by killing or pickpocketing the pirates on the island.

The island is used as a hideout, both by escaped prisoners and by pirates of The Onyx Raiders faction, who operate in the Unquiet Ocean.^[1] The Onyx Raiders are a violent faction of pirates that target merchant ships, kill the entire crew, and leave the ship stripped of any valuables.^[2] Their name comes from a ritual their captains perform where they have one of their eyes replaced with an onyx gem that they plundered.^[3]

In total, players will need the following items to build everything:

• The pirates inhabiting the island could be escaped prisoners. On the north-west corner of the island, a wrecked rowboat can be found. A grave can be found next to the rowboat, with the examine text "A lone grave looking out over the sea." On the path from the rowboat to the pirate settlement, two sets of striped clothing resembling prison garb can be found.
