Southern Expanse

The Southern Expanse is the name given to a large portion of the Shrouded Ocean. It contains one large island, the Isle of Serpents. To the north lies the Sapphire Sea and The Everdeep, to the west lies Horizon's End, and to the east lies Sunbleak Island and Rainbow Reef.

The Southern Expanse is filled with tangled kelp, requiring a ship built with an Adamant helm or higher (requiring level 72 Sailing or higher to build) to avoid damage when traversing it.

Mercenary and merchant shipwrecks can be found to the south-west, along with shoals of bluefin and halibut in the areas around Sunbleak Island and east of the Isle of Serpents respectively.

Charting activates reward various amounts of Sailing experience, with significant bonus experience for completing every charting task in any given sea or ocean.
