Mercenary shipwrecks are a type of salvageable shipwreck found at sea, requiring level 73 Sailing to salvage from with a salvaging hook. Mercenary shipwrecks will yield martial salvage, granting 138 Sailing experience; these can then be sorted at a salvaging station (or the boat facility), granting loot and an additional 63.5 Sailing experience.

Since all mercenary shipwrecks are found in seas with tangled kelp, players will need an adamant helm on their boat in order to access them.

It is recommended to have at least two crewmates to optimally salvage, one at the helm for navigating to an active shipwreck and another manning one of the hooks. This nets around 40,000 Sailing experience per hour with two adamant hooks.

Salvaging alongside Cabin Boy Jenkins utilising two rune salvaging hooks and using another crewmember with high Deckhandiness to man the player's salvaging hook when you need to sort salvage, one can expect 60,000+ Sailing experience per hour for only salvaging. Including the Crystal extractor increases the expected experience rate to 74,000+ Sailing experience per hour.

Because of the high amount of equipment provided from mercenary shipwrecks, players can make passive money by bringing runes for High Level Alchemy.

Bug Bug:
Currently it is impossible to receive hard clue boxes from sorting martial salvage whilst having an opened hard clue in your bank or inventory.

The chance to successfully salvage is affected by the salvaging hook used and Sailing level: better salvaging hooks and a higher Sailing level increases the likelihood of successfully receiving salvage.
