A broken sextant is a relic that is obtained at a rate of 1/3,000 whilst sorting martial salvage.

It can be handed to Curator Haig Halen at the Varrock Museum, with the first hand-in offering 1 Kudos, and an antique lamp which offers 10,000 XP in any skill at level 40 or above. Subsequent hand-ins will offer 5,000 coins instead.

When initially given to Curator Haig Halen, he will note that there is something carved on it which reads "There is a king who presides over a court of corpses."

• The inscription on the item is nearly identical to a line spoken to the player while in the Shadow Realm at the Lassar Undercity during Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire.
