Haig Halen is the Curator of the Varrock Museum. He can be found on the ground floor. When asked about treasure, he'll tell the player that the museum is "full of treasures" and that anything the museum found took some time to acquire. You can trade him 250 cut rubies, 100 cosmic runes, 500 fire runes and a Digsite pendant for a curator's medallion.
You may speak to him after gaining 50 Kudos to complete an easy achievement diary task. He is also overseeing the construction of the barge, which requires 100 Kudos to assist with.
Relics obtained from shipwreck salvaging can be given to him in exchange for 1 Kudos and an antique lamp. After turning in all eight relics, he will start saying various lines similar to those found inscribed on the relics, though it is unclear if he is being possessed by something, or if the player is hallucinating what he is saying, as he does not remember saying anything unusual himself.
Quests
He must be pickpocketed during The Golem for a display key to the statuette.
During the Shield of Arrav quest, he will hand you two halves of a certificate in exchange for the half of the Shield of Arrav. You then trade one of the halves to your friend so you and your friend can join both halves of the certificate together to claim the reward for returning the shield. Note that both of the two halves of the certificate are different.
During The Dig Site quest, he stamps the unstamped letter so that the player can take the exam at the Exam Centre. At the end of the quest, he gives you a fruit blast for something to drink or a chocolate cake for something to eat.
He starts the quest Bone Voyage, by informing the Adventurer of the discovery of Fossil Island and asking them to aid the Digsite team in the construction of their barge.
He accepts relics found in Barronite deposits harvested from the Ruins of Camdozaal after completion of the quest Below Ice Mountain.
When Varlamore opened to the rest of Gielinor, Haig took a trip to the Grand Museum to take a look at the antiques displayed there. While admiring Xerna's Diadem, a thief had broken in and tried to steal it, but Haig subdued him with ease. Not wanting the relic to be in further danger, he took it back with him to Varrock and placed it in a storeroom. An adventurer, tasked by Curator Herminius to recover the Diadem, was led to Haig, who denied stealing the artefact. The adventurer, not believing his claim, managed to pickpocket a storeroom key and discovered it and other stolen artefacts, shaming him into returning it back to the Grand Museum. In return for doing so, the adventurer omitted his name when they informed Hermininus that the diadem was returning to the museum shortly. These actions happened during the Ethically Acquired Antiquities quest.
