The barrel is located in the southern part of the Digsite just to the west of the tent, and is primarily used during the quest The Dig Site. A player must use a trowel on the barrel in order to open it. The barrel is full of an orange liquid, which the player can obtain by using a vial on the opened barrel to receive unidentified liquid. The unidentified liquid can be taken to Terry Balando, the archaeological expert, to be identified as nitroglycerin. The barrel reseals itself after the player has completed going through the chat dialogue as a result of filling a vial.

• The barrel loses the warning sign that is present on the sealed barrel once opened, despite the examine text of the opened barrel stating that it has it.
